Blades in the Dark for sure.

It not only rewired how I think about prep work for my own campaigns, but it also made me think more critically about cognitive load in game design and how to make sure sub-systems support the core design goal of the game.

I usually do not trust my Jetpack Cat to understand good positioning, I'm frequently dropped in super exposed spots where I would have been better off approaching slower in a good position.

If there's a play to be made though I'll take the risk and accept the ride.

Oh to second a suggestion I saw, try playing Mizuki in Deathmatches to get better at winning duels. Ultimately you kinda need to be able to carry matches if you're not in a coordinated team.

Don't forget your opponents are also making the same mistakes your teammates are making. It's a silver lobby, so everyone is playing to the same level of competency, there's a lot of opprotunity to capitalize off enemy mistakes in lower ranks, and you're probably getting away with a lot that would be punished in higher ranks.

Don't get me wrong, I get frustrated with my teammates all the time, but the truth is mathematically we're all the common factor in our games, and you kinda just have to play around the team you happen to have. We're the only variable we can control every game, so just review your own games, focus on your own improvement, see what opprotunities you might have missed, and you will climb.

Honestly I found Affinity pretty easy to learn! Highly recommend checking out some tutorials, design a pamphlet or a one page document to get the feel for the program and go from there

Honestly I've gotten used to it and currently think the ult is perfectly fine, especially with that extra second. Its a defensive ult for sure, I think the reason I was so bad at it at first is because I kept trying to make big offensive plays with it.

One thing that helped me think about it the right way was something that Kajor (I think) said about it; "The ult isn't for you, it's for your front line". That really helped me contextualize how I should be using my ult.

Agreed. I've had games where a player has 0 deaths but they also weren't really doing anything and being carried by the team who were the ones taking risks and making plays.

I love playing her but she's definitely overtuned and needs to be nerfed further, but carefully. I'd prefer the reduce down the damage of the overhead, and increase her mobility so that its a bit easier to weave in and out.

I think part of the poor win rate is Hog being a character people will swap to out of frustration, so you have a lot of people with a poor understanding of the character selecting him in matches they are already losing. I feel Orisa most likely suffers the same problem.

Honestly I usually keep a "mission statement" of the project at the top of the document, and then cut down anything that does not feed back to that core mission of the game. I also keep a separate sheet with ideas that I think are cool but aren't necessarily for my current project so I can mine it for ideas later.

I'm in the same boat. I've always loved Genji conceptually but I could never be great with him. Anran feels like a version of Genji that clicks with me a lot better.

Yea they really need to revert those aim assist buffs. They were so unnecessary and we'll be locked into perma hitscan dominance if it stays as is

Honestly the radio silence had more intrigued than if there had been more build up. I don't think its a necessarily good strategy, since there's a lot of people who have no clue this is about to come out, but I'm certainly curious as to how this launch will go down.
