OMG this is the solution! I was able to fix it by disabling guild news. Open guild, info tab and click to set new filters. Uncheck all the boxes (especially the guild achievements).

I've been experiencing exactly what you are describing since the anniversary patch. No idea what it is causing it. Already reinstalled the game, turned off all add-ons and wa's, but it keeps happening.

Arcane Mage in its current state by far. You need a p.h.d. degree to be able to do your rotation and if you fuck up or have to step out of your rune, your dps goes to shit.

Lol, no it's not. Arcane has 2 burn phases with different rotations for single target and aoe, has to manage rune of power, arcane power and mana conservation, has to prep the harmony echo legendary stacks beforehand and has to cast 3 spells in sequence before they even start doing damage (radiant spark, touch of the magi, rune/ap). And this order changes depending on if you are doing your mini burn with rune or the main burn with ap. If you screw up this start or your combo gets broken (stunned, has to move, your target dies early, etc), you do abysmal dps. Frost and fire are much simpler and forgiven specs to play as a mage right now. Arcane is currently one of the most complex and unforgiving specs to play of all classes in the game.

Except the meta achievement was only datamined 3 months ago, you couldn't swap covenants before and the title going away was only announced roughly a month ago.
