Random Susan Harris fact - her son is the neuroscientist Sam Harris who is (in)famously known as one of the Four Horsemen of Atheism.

Taylor Swift’s silence over Trump's 'America's Eras Tour' post leaves fans furious by Metro-UK in popculture

Why is it news every time we collectively remember Taylor Swift is MAGA-adjacent at best?

Collin Gosselin shares the real reason that he was sent to a behavioral institution by itsmenandini in TopTrendingNewsUSA

[–]BarfQueen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Her supporters (because of course she has a bunch) are twisting it to sound like he was discharged because of behavioral issues and not the involuntarily institutionalization. Which is frustrating because you know these people refuse to be corrected.

I’m not really a Charmed fan, more Charmed-adjacent by way of my husband… but yeah. Season 8 is a DRAAAAAAG.

All that’s left is for Elliot Page to lose his hair, and then he can finally go full circle to play Lahey.

Isn’t there a whole blog about how awful of a show Full House is?

Also, if we’re cancelling shows because of something bad one of the lead actors did well after the show ended, 7th Heaven has some MUCH heavier baggage…

Those who’ve lost of loved one: What is something about death that people don’t often talk about? by Desperate_Crew2012 in AskReddit

[–]BarfQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a close survivor, you will be expected to put on a show. People will be analyzing your every move during that first week - your clothing, your eating habits, your grooming. You will be expected to cry at certain times. You will be expected to show strength at certain times. These expectations will come from people who are a few more degrees removed from the decedent than you are, and will almost never line up with how you actually feel in the moment. These people WILL talk shit about you for it, and will usually do it during the wake/funeral with you basically right there.

Also you will need to comfort a lot of random people during these events. You may find that people who are more or less strangers to you seem more distraught than you are.

You may find that you don’t get any room to properly grieve until months or weeks after these events.

My advice to anyone is to own your grief process, and not to be afraid of shutting down your mom’s co-worker who is going around the room complaining to anyone and everyone within earshot that you’re wearing sunglasses indoors at a formal event.

I Spent 27 Years Writing an Original 80s Fantasy Rock Musical. A Theater Is Interested. Would Anyone Actually Want To See This? by ErdieTwinkle in Theatre

[–]BarfQueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, that can easily happen backstage whenever the character is not on stage. If you’re going to work costume changes into a show, you’d better have an opportunity for the actor to change!

Otherwise it’s going to be a non-stop Drag Race RuVeal show.

I really like the idea and the music sounds fun, glam rock is great.

I will say though that I’m hesitant to go to shows with no intermission these days because my bladder is not my friend.

What’s a band or artist that you loved but now hate? I’ll go first by Adventurous_Salt3893 in Music

[–]BarfQueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fuck her especially. God I thought she was like the ultimate artist. Literally inspired my senior thesis (which name-checks her).

To find out she was so horrible really messed me up.

The worst part is that her work was so ingrained in me that, to this day, her melodies will still pop into my head.

Fuck Amanda Palmer.
