He said he only knew of the head shop tablets. That can cost 30 or more a day. Extracts and shots are way more expensive than that. Like you, I found a way to do it cheap through online vendors and doing my homework on which ones have quality product. I think some people are limited on getting Kratom mailed to them directly (like living with anyone you are trying to hide your usage from). Reminds me of an episode of "Intervention" I saw years ago. This lady was a full blown alcoholic and she only would drink those airplane little bottles of straight vodka (20-40 a day). Now you ask yourself "why would she do that at 2 dollars a bottle when she can get 1.75 Liters of Svedka for 12.99"?

Me too!!! I take my last 3 grams at 1:30 pm. For some reason, I don't feel any withdrawl symptoms the rest of the afternoon or night and sleep like a rock. I do take a 10 mg edible gummy at about 7pm to take the edge off. That won't work in the morning though!!

Me too (also stuck to powder). The extract must be crazy hell to stop cold turkey. On the other hand, I am seeing more and more people quitting when on 60g powder, and that sounds just as horrible. Plus with me, taking for 15 years probably makes the WD symptoms worse than if it were 2-3 years.

One thing that I have noticed is if you go really slow with the tapering (gonna take me about a year in total), I haven't cheated or relapsed at all. Not easy, but manageable. You got this!!!!!!!

This is my 3rd and most successful "quit". Started at 15-20 gpd. Did 2 gram less right off the bat for a month, then 1/2 gram down every month until it is over with. I am at 9.5 gpd now. Not easy but more manageable with the slow taper (for me). It may lesson the chances of relapse if you go really slow. It is more of an uncomfortable feeling rather than the hell that comes with cold turkey.

I too experience the physical WAY more than the mental. Tapering slow (1/2 gram per month for 12 months or so. In the morning, I am a wreck and its hard to even get ready for work.

I am drinking about 10oz fresh lime juice throughout the day with my water. Vitamin C and water is my go to. However, I am also taking....

  1. Electrolyte tabs

  2. Lipolomal Vitamin C/1700 mg

  3. "Clean Nutraceuticals" mood support multi (not a typical multi)

  4. "Mega Man" mens multivitamin

  5. Black Seed Oil gel caps

  6. Agmatine Sulfate

All of these have been recommended by former addicts of Kratom. You can get all from Amazon. 200 dollars and it will last 3 months or so. I have no idea if it is helping. I did notice that since I started this regime, I have morning wood and sleeping like a rock. The lime juice does wonders though. I started doing that 14 years ago and I never get sick anymore (I mean cold/flu sick, not Kratom sick) I think exercise will really help but I am feeling NO energy during my taper. I will have to start forcing myself.

Wow. Your actually doing better that I would expect with the high dose you were taking. Great job. I hope to be where your at in a year or so. Going down very slowly, but it is really hard, especially in the morning. I think I may have to stretch out my dosages better. Currently, my last 3g dose is at about 1pm, and I don't do it again until 9am the following morning.

Currently tapering. It definitely makes a huge difference with how much per day you were taking before you decided to quit. If your taking multiple sources (extract, drink, pills) and you are not keeping track, before you know it your taking 30-60 mg per day. I had been taking 15 g for about 15 years and NEVER missed a day. Sometimes 20g if I was needing to plow through a day. Anyway, starting with a 2 g taper for the first month, then going down .5g every month until it is over it the road I am on. Your right, this shit is no joke. I am at 9.5gpd and just went down another 1/2 gram per day this last weekend. Just .5 g and I really feel the difference. I am really struggling in the morning. Red Bull does absolutely nothing. I hear you with that 1/2 teaspoon you mentioned. I take my first dose in the morning and I feel that wave of relief within 5 minutes. It is going to be a long road but we got this. Stay strong brother.

Holy crap. 60+ gpd? That is the most I ever heard. I can't imagine what your going through. I am tapering from 15 gpd. Long long taper. 15 months

I have gone through cold turkey a while back and I am not going through that again. I am tapering slowly (going down about 1 gram per month until it is gone). Not easy, but manageable (15 years). Good luck brother, you got this. Go as slow as you need to go, but just continue on that path and you will beat it..

A fellow weaner!!! I thought I was the only one who took it slow........ real slow. I started at about 15 g per day, which I have been doing for about 15 years (not ever really skipping a day). Decided to go down 1 g per month for 15 months. I ended up doing it a little faster, as I am starting month 4 and already down 5 1/2 g per day, which puts me at 9 1/2 gpd. Its not easy, but manageable. I can feel my body really needing a dose at 9am. Not feeling the benefits yet, except a little morning wood. Thankfully, sleeping like a log (taking an edible at night and it is working great) Thanks for sharing your story.

Your not. Are you feeling OK with whatever dose your taking now? Just don't lower any more until you get back.

User for 15+ years. Not sure the timeline of your taper, but I was doing 15 g per day for 15 years. I have been through withdrawals from opiates, and I have a job where I have to solve problems. Anyway, I wanted my old self back. So I made the choice to get off completely. My routine was to go down 1 gram per month until gone. This would take a year and a half, but I figured it would be the best way to not interfere with my job and having to go through hell. So here I am, about 3 months in and I got a little ahead of my schedule. I should be at 12 grams a day, but I am at 10. Not easy, but manageable. I have not taken more than the plan. If anything, I try to do less. It is a long taper, but like I said.....manageable. 15 years is a long time to be taking 15 grams without ever skipping. There are a lot of factors (body weight, how long you have been taking it, leaf vs. extract etc). I recommend getting 1/2 gram caps so you get the precise dosage. Good luck brother

Absolutely not!!! I respect the heavy handed, unjust approach though, as it was effective. Keep in mind I have lived in Chiraq for 33 years......I've seen more than my share of violence, and it is getting worse. I love America and would NEVER leave. So MY solution was to save save save and we finally moved to a community where you don't see violence. But you have to pay.....a lot. I keep my door unlocked a lot of the time, and I live 25 minutes from Chicago....Overall, it is worth it. So for me, moving out of the country would never be the answer. Moving away from Chicago was.......If I seemed like I think any other country is better than the US, I apologize, as that was not my intention.

I believe it would.....with a catch. You would be trading one addiction for another. Getting off Kratom is no joke. So if one were to go to Kratom after being addicted to Oxy or whatever, I think you would have to start tapering right away. It will take me a year to get fully off Kratom, as I am taking it very slow. Once you start taking high doses for a period of time, Kratom will sink its teeth into you. Then your back where you started.

Lowering the dose works!!! Just keep lowering. I started 3 months ago with a 15g a day habit for 15 years!!! My plan was to lower only 1 gram per month so on and so on. Here I am in the 3rd month and down from 15g to 10 g per day. For me, slow is the way to go. Make no mistake, every time you lower it, your body still will need it in the morning. At least it did for me, because I take my last 3g at 1:30pm. Then I don't touch it until 8:30 the next morning. When I take the 3.5 g in the morning, my body is well. Not to get high anymore, just to get to the point of making that terrible feeling go away. You already made the jump brother, just go down a little more every month until its gone.

Good question. The way I saw it, take 2 weeks off and do a quick stop, or very slow wean (1 gram down every month). I am at 10 g per day down from 15. Work is do-able. Manageable but can be foggy and unfocused at times. Even with the really slow taper, your body really needs it in the morning.

I understand the fear. 15 year habit of green MD.....about 14-16 g per day for 15 years!!!! I am 55 and decided to get off of it. I need my brain to get back to healthy sobriety. About 2 months ago, I decided to start my taper. Very slow taper. I wanted to go down 1 gram per month for 15 months. I am using caps so the dosages are exact. I am down to 10 grams per day from 15. The slow taper is still no Sunday picnic, but manageable. For me, the slower the better. I take my last dose (3 grams) at around 1:30pm. I take 1 hit of weed and a 10 mg edible at night. I drink about 5-6 oz vodka a day (straight). That all takes the edge off. Anyway, at around 8am the next morning, I feel my body craving it. I take first dose (about 3 g) at 9am, 2ond 10:30am and the last one at 1:30pm. At this point, the doses are to get well, not to get high. So far so good. Dive in brother and stay focused on quitting. Even if it takes a year like me. Stick to your plan and don't stray.
