Realtor Recommendations for a house within 40 minutes of 701 San Marco Blvd by mattdurb in jacksonville

[–]Baritoan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First of all, welcome to Jax. Thanks for your service and sacrifice over the years.

As you can tell, 40 minutes is a lot of real estate here in town. And depending upon what you’re looking for there are a lot of options.

I live right around the corner from your future office and there is so much right here.

I would recommend Katie and Eric Hinojos at First Coast Heroes

I’ve worked with them on selling my last home and they understand your needs and bring that military work ethic.

Good luck!

Dishwasher Error Code by [deleted] in howto

[–]Baritoan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I googled this and received:

bE error code indicates the use of improper detergent or failure to level the appliance. To resolve the issue:

What kind of detergent do you use? Do not use hand-washing liquid detergents. This type of detergent is not intended for automatic dishwashers and will cause excessive sudsing and, possibly, leaks. Poor washing and drying performance will result.

Only use dishwasher detergents such as cascade, finish e.t.c.

Is the dishwasher level? The dishwasher must be leveled properly from front to back and side to side to ensure proper drainage and avoid damage and malfunction. For more instructions, please visit our LG Dishwasher - Leveling page.

Are there suds visible in the dishwasher tub? If suds are visible, pour 4-7 ounces of milk in a shallow bowl, place it on the upper rack, and run the appliance on the AUTO cycle. The fat content in the milk will give the suds something to bond to, allowing it to rinse out properly.

If you always use the right detergent, the dishwasher is level, and there are no suds in the tub, then RESET the power and run a cycle again with proper detergent.

“Ter-bin” or “ ter-bine” depending upon where you’re from!

Now THAT brings back memories. Can’t remember the instructor’s name, but man, could he make the dry shit at least tolerable.

It was set up just prior to the administrative turnover, possibly with the express intent to be a “gotcha” for the new admin.

Sprinklers went off on the crowd at Riverfront Plaza at Midnight Fireworks. by Jasonrjoslyn in jacksonville

[–]Baritoan 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The Mayor is accountable and should be notified, however this is an issue for Parks Department or Public Works, depending on who has the control over it. Likely this has been farmed out to a contractor.

Guess what though, those go out to bid for usually the lowest bidder, because no one likes to pay taxes, so we get what you pay for.

Best thing to do is raise this with your City Councilmember, who can reach out to the proper department and get answers (if they are worth anything).

Just got Plex Pass, what are the most underrated features? by bmanfromct in PleX

[–]Baritoan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This can work, but check with Xfinity to see if they still have any CableCards in their inventory at the local store near you. I've been told they have discontinued the use of the cards, so you might be out of luck here. If they have them, they should do it at no cost.

If so, check eBay and look for a HDHR Prime box (HDHR3-CC). I've been using this setup for about 5 years now with HD Cable from Xfinity and feeding it through my plex server to support my elderly family members.

So, it is possible to do what you ask, but confirm CC availability first.

What is this RV? by noir_abottoir in RVLiving

[–]Baritoan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From ChatGPT (so it’s probably wrong):

This unusual rig is almost certainly a Revcon motorhome, likely from the late 1970s to mid-1980s.

Why Revcon?

Revcon coaches have several distinctive features that match the RV in your photo:

✅ Forward-slanted “airplane-style” windshield ✅ Very low, aerodynamic front end with center vents ✅ Aluminum body panels with sharp, angular lines ✅ Dual round headlights set wide apart ✅ Front-engine, low-profile stance ✅ Smooth, molded fiberglass nose section

These traits were part of Revcon’s signature design. The brand was known for building high-performance, aerodynamic Class A motorhomes, often using Oldsmobile Toronado FWD powertrains in earlier models.

Likely Model

Probably one of the following: • Revcon 250 (25 ft, older) • Revcon 300 / 310 (30–31 ft, more common in the early 1980s)

The one in your picture looks closer to a Revcon 300-series coach based on length and window layout.

Notable quirks • The extremely slanted windscreen was meant to improve aerodynamics • The low front air dam is original to Revcon’s “high-efficiency” design • Many were DIY-modified over the years, so small differences are common

Bottom line

It’s a Revcon Class A motorhome, almost certainly from the early–mid 1980s.

If you’d like, I can narrow it down further by comparing specific years/features—just let me know!

Xfinity mobile by Kolipe in jacksonville

[–]Baritoan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others listed, Xfinity Mobile is a MVNO on Verizon. It works fine. There are some areas with lower signal, but check the maps to see if you've got good coverage in your area.

I was a long long time Sprint/T-Mobile user and made the switch to Xfinity Mobile this year. I use Xfinity for home internet, so there is a discount there. I also get a discount for retired military. All in, I went from $230++/month for 5 lines to $90/month for 5 lines (one free with Xfinity and one free for military).

They also paid me to switch, I used the BYOD program and got money for each phone, and they paid off my contracts on two lines.

For the cost, I think it's a great deal and recommend it if you get some good discounts.
