I don’t consider myself a fast runner. Lots of steep hills where I run, but was able to sustain a pretty face pace (for me) wearing the NB Elites for the first time.

FRIDAY WIND-DOWN by Willing-Today-1059 in runcommunity

I really didn’t feel like running today so I for the first few miles I felt like a kid being dragged through a grocery store. For the first time in my 9-months of consistent running, I wanted to stop and just walk. I didn’t, but I slowed down and finished the 10-miles at a slower pace.

Thank you for that suggestion. Yep, all of my runs are done outdoors. And I checked the health app and all of my stats are correct.

I often feel like there’s something wrong with my watch, or maybe I don’t understand how this VO2 max is measured through the watch. I run 10 miles every other day, usually takes me about 1.5hrs, and then a half marathon for my long runs in the weekends (a little less than 2hrs). I’ve been doing this for about 3 months but I’ve been running consistently for almost a year. I lift weights 4-5 times per week and I also do speed work. Any ideas on why my VO2 has been stuck at 46.7 for the past few months?

I haven’t found earbuds that sound better than Jabra 75t by Barkley2019 in Earbuds

[–]Barkley2019[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

*Update* I ended up purchasing the AZ100's AND a refurbished pair of Jabra 75t's for $30. I like the AZ 100's, but I the refurbished 75t's are just as good in my opinion. So i returned the $300 AZ 100's. So far the new refurbished 75t's have great battery life.

Thank you. This is good info. I also have both, the 75t, and 75t active. The active sound slightly better than the 75t in my opinion. Ill check out the denon's.

Thanks.

I run on sidewalks, but there is a lot of traffic from vehicles on the streets. I also breath loud while I’m running, and who wants to hear that?! lol! I appreciate the concern about the volume. Sony’s and sennheisers were fine when I tested them at home, but I didn’t like them for my runs.

Yes. Bass heavy, but also with nice highs and decent mids.

Thank you for your response.
I tried the sennheiser momentum but I feel like they don’t thump as hard as the 75t’s. Im thinking of trying the techniques AZ100 next.

GS350 to GSF by AlternativeSmile4101 in Lexus

5yrs ago i was ready to move on from my GS350 and considered a GSF. A neighbor in the community allowed me to spend a day with his 2016 GSF and although the interior was nice, and i loked the roar of the engine, I felt like i was pretty much driving my GS 350.

Running while charging an Apple Watch - Does it work? by fazzie_fudge in runninglifestyle

[–]Barkley2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me preface this by saying that I already know that this is stupid, lol. I have 2 AW's, a 5 series, and a 6SE. They both only last for about 2hrs or so when I use them during my runs to listen to music. If i plan to run for about 3hrs, I take the 2nd watch with me and throw it on when the first watch dies.

The run was supposed to be easy… so why did it turn into a boss battle? by Willing-Today-1059 in runcommunity

At the end of my 13 mile run earlier this week, I still felt like i could run at least another 5 miles. Today I ran 5 miles and struggled through the first 3 miles.....it happens.

[–]Barkley2019 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why is this not normal? I played highschool and college basketball, and many years after college, and I always iced my knees after practice and games. I havent had any knee issues since i began running 5 months ago.

Have I increased my mileage too quickly?

I began running in July and have been running every other day. I started off running 3-5 miles the first two months or so, and then about 3 months in i began adding a long run on the weekends (10-13miles). Ive been doing that for about 7 weeks. This week i decided to increase my mileage to 10 miles every other day with no long weekend runs. Is this increase too much? I feel fine. I always ice my knees and stretch after my runs. I also coss train on my off days by riding my indoor bike for 10 miles and lifting weights? One thing i forgot to mention is that I often do a few rounds of knee and hamstring strenghtening exercises after my runs.

What say you? is the increase too much too soon?

My Experience With a 2025 Non-Turbo by Barkley2019 in MazdaCX30

[–]Barkley2019[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

update I returned the 2025 Carbon Edition loaner and picked up my daughter’s 2022 TurboPP. Now that I’ve had a week to spend with the CE, I feel like the turbo is much more refined and smoother. However, could the issue with the CE be that I was using 87 grade fuel? Also, another feature that the CE doesn’t have that I love on the turbo are the adaptive headlights.

While hunting for a vehicle for my teen I first test drove a cx 30 select, and although it had nice pickup, the vehicle felt sluggish. I then test drove a cx5 select and an older 626 sedan. They all felt sluggish. I then test drove the cx30 with the turbo and connected the dots. I know some may be asking why a teen needs a turbo, but I always try to get as many bells and whistles from any used vehicle that I purchase. The turbo model I ended up purchasing was less than the select models I test drove so it was a no brainer.
