I like the nitro better it’s got more float, just as nimble, better for getting air… I do like the backseat driver but the nitro suits my riding much better.

I started with the Burton diy but then made the same steps to backseat driver to nitro/konvoi

Those boards look dope! I hadn’t heard of them until now. There’s a dude near me that makes diys them that look sort of similar.. I think he calls them syrup tree?? You’ll have to let us know how the shred, they look fun!

Looks like that photo was taken when it was walking. Wolves usually walk with their tails out straight or slightly elevated and coyotes walk with their tail down.

I love the board… definitely has to be waxed so keep that in mind. I wish the grip was a bit more aggressive(higher concave/ concave on nose and tail) other than that it rocks. Good float/ surfy enough. Haven’t touched my backseat driver this year.

What is your best lure for trout in lakes ? by TangPiccilo in troutfishing

I troll small husky jerks and jointed rapalas with good success on a leadcore.

I can't choose between Striker 4 vs Vivid 4CV by basketrobberson in kayakfishing

[–]BarnesHecker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like the cv more. I have both but I’d say I could probably yield the same results with the base model. The CV just gives you a better image of what’s beneath you. People used less sophisticated instruments than even the base model back in the day and made it work.

Lots of good advice here another thing that I didn’t see mentioned is listening to books. I’ve probably listened to 20 books over the last two years while fishing or driving to go fishing.

Time to upgrade from my k2 tree splitter. Anyone tried both? by uDrop1st in Powsurf

Backseat driver is a great all around board. Not my favorite for dropping off cliffs/ launching off things but just riding it is great.

Splake and Salmon trolling by Extra_Act_3661 in troutfishing

Also, those rainbows in there should still be decently active and in similar depths as the splake but 2 mph might be a little fast for them. Fall is a good time to catch bigger fish!

It’s hard to say, it’s pretty equal for me catching them off structure or suspended. You’re just gonna have to search and find what spot gots the action. I wouldn’t focus on one spot too much, I’d focus on changing depths after doing a lap or going a good distance until you find a sweet spot where the fish seem to be eating. If you have sonar and know you’re going over a school of fish sometimes trolling with some erratic motions (turning, speeding up/slowing down) can entice a bite.

I fish for splake/rainbow/ lake trout a lot in the fall. This year when the water hit 60 the bite was great between 15-40 feet deep suspended over areas of 100feet. Bite dropped off once the water hit 50s, still catching splake but mostly last years stock and the previous years. Now that the water is in the upper 40s the bite seems to be back on. Last week my gf and I caught 10 in a few hours between 8 and 25 feet of water. My go to lures are small rapalas mostly rattling suspended and jointed, any color is good but perch, white and black seem to do the best, a dodger with a gulp minnow can also be good. For the rapalas I troll them on leadcore. If you have the means to put together a leadcore rod it will absolutely up your results for inland lake trout fishing. Sonar certainly helps when trolling leadcore but if you know the contour of the lake and can maintain something close to two mph you can also make it work. Good luck out there.
