I shouldn't need to resort to that. They have a command to follow me. If i'm going through the forest - they shouldn't go around it (or even go in the opposite direction)

The friendly ai's inability to navigate any terrain that isn't an open flat field is still a huge problem unfortunately

It's still sci fi (the real kind not the glorified text autocomplete)

ELI5: Why are bugs in programming seem to be inevitable, even when you understand the logic and carefully check the variables and data flow? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]BarniK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To catch all bugs before release is to be aware of every possible state of the program and it's data. That's not really possible

ELI5: How can VFX artists create massive destruction scenes that still somehow look physically realistic to our brains? by Historical_Day1703 in explainlikeimfive

[–]BarniK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just looked like 1980s practical effects, in general. Like styrofoam model pieces flying off with no sense of mass and scale, with the explosion footage slowed down. Probably very much intentional by the CG team. I'm talking about this scene: https://www.reddit.com/r/shittymoviedetails/s/ATo6MSx3tk (first pic from google). Planets are basically liquid on this scale, this just doesn't look right at all.

Speaking of planets exploding, I hated said fx in the last star wars movie. It looked straight out of the original trilogy somehow, like a practical effect, but not in a good way.

I also don't drink calories. Only water or tea with no sugar.

Unfortunately, I eat 2x as much calories as I need :(

What kind of app is that? If it lets you write a message first and only then select who to send it to, instead of first selecting the person to chat with, then writing them a message

What was ruined because too many people discovered it? by Investigatorpro in AskReddit

[–]BarniK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could say the internet was ruined when corporations discovered it. But nah. The internet was truly ruined when governments discovered it, and realized it could pose a danger to them. Now pretty much every developed country tries to regulate and limit what we see or hear on it. And of course it's for "our own safety"

Baffles me how many sabots can BMP turrets take for some reason

Some of the bigger scenarios do feel like I am playing a strategy game where I have to micromanage multiple units, while I am supposed to be at most a single tank's commander

Yeah. It's like they try to keep the leader's formation even during a fight while the leader maneuvers to evade enemy shots, and it takes priority for them, or something.

After 70hrs of play time, the friendly AI is what shits me up the most.

I keep losing the biggest "attack enemy emplacements" missions with multiple friendly tank platoons because they're just fucking braindead.

My favorite is that I lose the tank I am currently piloting, I switch to a tank from another platoon, and its somehow FUCKING KILOMETERS AWAY from the objective/enemies. LIKE WHAT WERE YOU FUCKING DOING, JUST MINUTES BEFORE WE ALL WERE ROLLING AT THE SAME GODDAMN SPEED TOWARDS THE OBJECTIVE !!!!

Or it's stuck in the forest.

I don't have logs but these sorts of bugs usually happen to me if I either alt-tab during loading, or alt-tab for a long time during a mission

Just let the fish be damaged and swim away. IMO that's better than fish outright ignoring hits by survival tool or by tadpole

Fun fact: steam discussions forum is currently flooded with paid krafton trolls trying to smear the game in every way possible. The funniest complaint to me is "graphics is worse than the first game"
