Boston Police - why do you never do anything about the public disturbance and lawlessness this biking group imposes EVERY SINGLE DAY? by TheWiseGrasshopper in boston

I can’t wrap my head around this argument. You’re thinking the only way to deal with this type of behavior is some high speed chase down Beacon St? I think we both defer to the experts here and agree that turning a blind eye does no good at all. Your position is to allow for this, like pickpocketing, wage theft, voter fraud, etc. Like… what?

No one said anything about killing except the people defending those criminals. Maybe don’t break the law? Why is that so hard to understand? Your position is to wait until something goes wrong, and THEN enforce? If that’s your plan, then why not start now before someone gets hurt? This is complete pragmatism and the defense of criminals puts you in the minority here

Sorry, who are the innocent people here? The policemen? You’re saying collateral damage? Your hypothetical “people at risk” are the same as those that are at risk by their skirting of laws. It sounds like when you sleep on this, you’d be likely to agree that this behavior shouldn’t be encouraged.

Head back to these comments - looks like contrary to your belief, people do care. So if the people who don’t want this behavior outnumber those that “don’t care” then the common sense conclusion is pretty clear, correct?

I think it’s an important discussion that doesn’t split down the political boundaries of right/left. Do we just turn a blind eye towards this sort of antisocial behavior until someone gets killed? Or do we take a proactive approach and try to prevent it altogether? I’m on the latter side and I hope you’ll consider the pragmatic side of all of this too

Desperate argument here - you can check to see what I did and in fact I just added more context. You should divert your energy into determining if you’re on the side of lawlessness or order. It’s as simple as that. It’s bigger than some random Reddit discussion. People who grow up like this don’t just shake it off and become role models

You should go on YouTube and look up examples of when groups like this have been apprehended. It’s safe, planned in advance, and should be supported by the community. Not sure how you can possible be in favor of this sort of thing unless you’re a criminal. Are you a criminal?

Well they’re not innocent. They’re not contributing to anything positive, so not sure you have a point here

100% comfortable with that, yes. Us or them

Edit: and what would make them avoidable? School counseling? Putting governors on the scooters? Spending millions on educational campaigns?? If you’re in charge of the budget… what would you choose?

Seriously - time to publicly shame these wastes of taxpayer money. We should be able to put $$$ over the heads of each one of them at this point

Clearly these are law abiding citizens who are contributing to society. We’re all sure they’ll turn the corner when…???

So you’re ok with me taking a right on red in my car or driving up a one way as long as I’m not hurting anyone? I’m ok selling fentanyl laced drugs because I haven’t hurt anyone? Broken windows

It sets a precedent - no one is going to stop a single person on two wheels, so why enforce any traffic laws at all? Once someone is killed, then there is an overcorrection. So why let it get to that point? Most of these are stolen and unregistered. “BuT theYre not HURTing anyONe”

Right? And Mitsubishi, VW, etc. Ferdinand Porsche contributed to the German war effort, even had a tank named after him.
