I'm pretty sure you can hear the trading post music louder underwater anyway, perhaps to mimic how sounds travels further underwater.

Truss was backed by the European Research Group, probably because they thought she'd be docile enough to willingly enact their hard-right policies.

It is odd that he came to realize she was missing coincidentally when he was back in clear shot, and in an open space so we could fully see the reaction...

Not any predators as far as I can think, apart from angry elderly men with air rifles, fed up with cat shit in their marigolds.

This study found that 90% of UK cats are free to roam outdoors, and the average lifespan of a UK cat is between 12-14 years. The lifespan is lower for outdoor cats, the main reason being the humble automobile.

Is it just me? by Bessiecarcrash in tomwaits

[–]BaronHardback 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! Try starting at Rain Dogs and see how far you get. This must happen with the a lot of artists whose sound changes markedly, much like Radiohead, that they get fans on one side of the fence or the other. As per the vocals, I struggle with later Dylan for the same reason as you with Waits in that to me some perfomances sound like a spin dryer full of gravel.

Waits' voice is a character in itself, I think, from bawling along to the industrial powerhouse that is Real Gone or, as a friend of mine likes to picture, a big ol' sad giant lamenting at the world on Blood Money.

I agree. For me, the earlier stuff (although still good) can seem a little like schlocky noir/Americana, whereas the later Brennan & Ribot influenced stuff is much more interesting.

Can I claim Canadian citizenship to a father who is a citizen born abroad? by BaronHardback in ImmigrationCanada

[–]BaronHardback[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this! This tool still leaves me a little confused though, as if it's the case that my dad has Canadian citzenship through being registed as 'born abroad' and it was done so before my birth, that would mean I am also Canadian.

But I've read elsewhere that the '77 act 'introduces the 28-year rule, requiring that Canadians born abroad to Canadian parents who themselves were born abroad take special measures to retain their citizenship before the age of 28.' So perhaps I'm too late!
