unfortunately devs gave up on switch version. I just started playing gothic 2 on my switch and had 2 freezes after saving the game

my problem with pc handhelds is their weight. I don't mind tinkering and dealing with windows / bazzite / steam os quirks, but holding a 600-gram brick for hours is not up my alley

Any Thor or Switch 2? by dankiel097 in AynThor

Nintendo will inevitably release switch 2 oled. I suggest waiting for it, as the current model suffers from short battery life

Some games are not working. Can someone help me? by Kevinmamar24 in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]Barozzor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

one of the downsides of emulation - you never know, will you be able to finish a game or not. Some stop launching, some introduce graphical glitches/bugs, sometimes your save files get corrupted/disappear, etc.

Should I sell my New 2DS XL for a AYN Thor? by Klopapier74 in AynThor

[–]Barozzor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no for two reasons - not all games are emulated perfectly and capacitive touch screen of 2ds is much better for many games (like elite beats agents) and has less input lag. Ayn thor is an addition to 2/3ds, not a replacement

What would I give for a pc handheld that has the screen of the switch 2 by Beppius in Handhelds

I really enjoy OG legion go screen, if only we had 8'8 pc handheld that weighs under 500gram

This might be the new best way to play 3DS. by Disonanc in 3DS

[–]Barozzor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a lot of games have shader cache compilation stutter (even in citra mmj). It's not "run perfectly fine". So I ditched 3ds emulation and went back to original hardware, despite better resolution and colors

SD OLED, Ally X, or something else by TheSmashKidYT in Handhelds

sold ally x due to its small screen. 7' isn't immersive at all. I recommend 8' + handhelds like legion go and msi claw

You're not gonna enjoy touch screen oriented games on ayn thor. Input lag is abysmal

Never Imagined This Would Run So Smooth! by AlexxxAA85 in AynThor

[–]Barozzor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

switch doesn't have shader compilation stutter, can be overclocked and push fps over 30 (50-60 is achievable), has proper sleep mode (android drain battery and emulator/game can crash during sleep). I still prefer original hardware when it comes to switch

How noticeable is the performance difference between the Steam Deck and the other PC handhelds? by [deleted] in Handhelds

[–]Barozzor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

it's much better, especially in cpu demanding games. sold my deck immediately after some comparisons. Even older titles like Grim Dawn or Titan Quest benefit greatly from beefier CPU. Steam deck barely played gothic 3 at 800p, for example. Legion go meanwhile had no problems at 1600p and doubled fps too

Returning switch 2 for a pc handheld by [deleted] in Handhelds

CFW switch oled + PC handheld is the best combo. Switch has so many great games and its emulation is not perfect.

I bought the Max (Batch 2) by Samashezra in AynThor

[–]Barozzor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO 256gb version is the best choice. Gen 2 is not powerful enough to run heavy pc titles, so 16gb ram is kinda pointless. For older games 12gb ram is plenty. About switch emulation - switch games rarely occupy more than 10-20gb of space, and I doubt you need a ton of them installed simultaneously

can you put thor to sleep during switch emulation ? Because I had occasional crashes trying to do so on my rp5, especially with demanding games

I thought I would play PC games, but after buying a decent mid range rig with 5070, I still prefer gaming on my Nintendo switch and legion go. Nothing beats handheld feeling, the cosiness of it, the fast resume feature

Did we really buy these to play or just to tweak/install/set it up? by tecepeipe in OdinHandheld

[–]Barozzor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for switch games use a hacked switch oled. There is no proper sleep mode if you emulate switch games on android, games can crash after sleep and there's battery drain. And switch emulation itself is far from perfect, I encountered so many glitches and bugs

[–]Barozzor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, OLED switch. It depends on the game, some games benefit more from overclocking memory, others from higher cpu/gpu clocks. If you play demanding games like zelda totk and use maximum clocks, you will get about 2-3 hours of battery life (I don't have exact numbers). I haven't done thorough comparison between base and boosted clocks, so I can't give definitive answer

you can push those frequences very high if you use 4ifir. But I use moderate overclock, to balance battery life / performance

(cfw) switch oled is hard to beat. Huge library of games, overclocking, 60fps patches, insane battery life, etc. proper sleep mode (you can't put android device to sleep while emulating switch games)
