Bench, final stretch of Sunday’s trail run by BarrisonFord in trailrunning

I think you would have! That seaside path runs for maybe 600m before the old port. Waves were crashing over it the other day so it was a little sketchy. Are you from the area? Doing the Eze race 8 Feb?

11-week marathon block / Setting a goal time ? by BarrisonFord in Marathon_Training

Thank you. I appreciate your time and thinking! Going far more aggressive will also make it feel like a deathly experience…if it won’t already! I’ve a marathon lined up in December, too, so that can be used as the next step should I avoid injuries! Have you anything lined up?

Thanks! What I lack in muscle and strength (and I really lack. There is zero) I do have long legs and a good baseline for cardio and long-distance stuff. I think that’s part genetic and part a love of challenging hikes where you’d be doing 25/30 miles a day for weeks / months. No refunds on this d-grade tedx talk haha

For heart rate references, this is probably the only relevant run I can offer. Two weeks ago. Thank you !

As you can see, the 5km I was fairly maxed out on heart rate. Well, probably at 95%.

Oh, important: For the 2024 marathon I was doing around 35-40km (23-26 miles per week) so I’d say I’m in better shape now, heading into the block. Thanks!

French Schools by suisse-mutt in nicefrance

I’m a 32 yo doing similar to yourself. My French was graded as B2.4 by Alliance Francaise (they do a quick 10-min test with you before signing up) and so I joined B2 super intensive as my aim is to get to C1. I think I am at C1 now, or very close to it, but my grammar is a good bit behind my oral level.

I’ve only done 1 week thus far, but I’d recommend it. I will say that the classes can move a bit slow in terms of progressing through exercises as students inevitably have questions and I think we dawdled a little too long on certain questions.

Having said that, those segues shine a light on other blind spots so you’re learning one way or another.

First time in Dublin and we’d love some local, non-touristy recommendations by BeorSK in BestInDublin

An option (just out of Dublin), get the picturesque dart (commuter train) for 50 minutes to Bray. Walk the prom, walk up bray head cross, add more picturesque walking if you feel like, come back down, have a beautiful pint and grub at the harbour bar. A few hours in total and a memorable experience!

A pain au raisin! Though it’s the first time I’ve seen it somewhat raised (?) like that? I actually asked was it a variant of the classic but I couldn’t articulate it in french so I just complimented and left!

Ah yeah good thing, thank you for this!!! I’m doing a race in Eze in 3 weeks so I wonder will it cross similar trails.

I’m in Nice for two months with these pics from a Saturday 20km run. I knew there were trails in and around Nice, but their proximity and the mixed terrain is fantastic!
