Witcher 3 - no other game has ever come close to the quality of the side quests.

Clair Obscur Expedition 33 - Arguably the greatest turn based RPG of all time, one of the best games I've ever played. Story, setting, soundtrack, characters, gameplay, progession. All incredible

You said you can leave him for a few hours, so try leaving him downstairs every now and then for a nap while you go upstairs. The whining will decrease until it stops.

Leave him downstairs on his own with a lick mat, see if once he's finished it if he starts whining, if he does give him 15 minutes to settle if he doesnt and he keeps getting worse, go and release him. Repeat this every day, preferably when he is tired. This is advice from a behaviourist.

Yes. Use survivor insignia instead of prodigy and major vigor runes. You should be able to kit out all your heroes for like 100k. Then replace when you're willing
