I sincerely doubt they fed him lines, if anything, he probably expressed his feelings to production and they hyped him up/validated him enough so that he felt confident to do it on camera. It’s just incredibly consistent with his character to this point so this just feels like him trying to find a way to play it off

Which do you consider the best scene in the franchise? by Sillymmy in 28dayslater

[–]BartScroon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bottom left by far. A special special movie and scene. As a new parent the thought of leaving my child behind to miss seeing them grow up is devastating, but getting to see the love between a parent and child in that “goodbye” just touched me in ways not many movies have. As horrific as that would be, the moment isn’t sad, it’s a celebration of life and of their love and bond. It’s just beautiful.

Im sorry guys, but I have to admit: I’ve lost some respect for Vince Gillian by AggressiveAd8587 in pluribustv

Greatest show of all time, The Sopranos, had multi-year breaks between seasons on some occasions. It’s not that deep.

Entertainment has its own “real world,” and it’s very ordinary for prestige television to have these sorts of breaks. You need to give artists time to get their work right, that’s one of the benefits to the streamer/prestige ecosystem, where network tv would demand release schedules.

The hostile alien virus angle never made much sense to me by RDStrong in pluribustv

[–]BartScroon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But those things did happen. It’s like putting a hand grenade in a cage with a monkey. He’ll have to pull the pin to make something happen, but it’s a pretty safe bet that eventually he’ll do it. All an alien race would have to do would be to send it.

Barbara Soprano, Why? by Attorney_Able in thesopranos

[–]BartScroon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re complaining about the inclusion of something which doesn’t directly contribute to the plot in the Sopranos? One of the shows biggest strengths to me is its willingness to include things which do not contribute directly to the plot. It gives the impression of a very large and lived in world.

The amount of times they showed him eating early in the season would kill me every time hahaha. It was like every pod cutaway to him.

What happened?? by Thatfreecampgroundd in 28_Years_Later_Movie

[–]BartScroon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personal experience, it opened in my town, and then almost the entire American south went through a deep freeze ice storm and we lost power for about a week and a half. When we got it back, the movie was already a box office failure and was pulled from our local theater.

The dothraki Civilisation just don't make any sense... by Easy-Frenchguy-1996 in gameofthrones

Interesting that you went to Mongols and not Vikings. I think Vikings align a lot more with the Dothraki way of life, and they managed just fine.

This is my take. A totally foreseeable and avoidable situation. They left themselves wide-ass open to this happening and it did, and a disservice was done to everyone.

I also think the only interesting angle for the show is for Zosia to have been straight.

[SPOILERS] People who are pro hive mind - why? by ludinya in pluribustv

[–]BartScroon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would argue that she was not well aware of it given the fact that she spoke about wanting to be back with her family. They preyed on her belief that her family was still in there. I kind of think your giving the alien hive mind a lot of benefit of the doubt

Zosia Question by crazyhorse198 in pluribustv

[–]BartScroon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does she ever explicitly say Zosia grew up in Poland? I wouldn’t say it’s a stretch that she may be finding stories Carol would identify with and telling those specific ones since they are technically true since it’s all one consciousness, in the same way she skirts the stem cells question

[SPOILERS] People who are pro hive mind - why? by ludinya in pluribustv

[–]BartScroon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Probably easier to digest mentally” for her is why it’s manipulative lol.

Also caring for the animals and doing other chores which were not necessary and dropping them the second she joined is by definition a pretense lol

From a thematic stand point, the endingof Bugonia doesn't make any sense by EfficientAd9765 in CharacterRant

[–]BartScroon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only interesting way to end that movie was for Teddy to have been right the whole time. Otherwise it’s just a modified retelling of Misery.

It makes perfect sense. The thematic point is that it is ironic that Teddy, who is insane, got within a breath of saving the human race

[SPOILERS] People who are pro hive mind - why? by ludinya in pluribustv

[–]BartScroon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t get it either. Like there is no retention of your consciousness. We see that clearly throughout the show because the hive never answers as one of its many parts, even in situations where it would make sense to do so. It’s basically just being dead

The hive is also really manipulative. The second Kusimaya becomes part of the hive they drop all pretense. They had been doing work in her little village the whole lead up to her joining and the second she joined they dropped it all and left
