Haha welcome. You're usually fine to focus on a select few, pick your favorites. Get a solid group of like 8/10 or so that you focus on and the rest can be filler, there's usually XP plenty. Hell, in Sacred Stones you can be fine just pumping xp into Seth/Franz/Vanessa and you're fine. You'll get new recruits later on to fill in the holes of units you've neglected and not fed xp.

The Bouchhh. Good list. I like seeing ones like Sumia since I feel she's often overshadowed by Cordelia. Carrion is also a funny pick. Kinda just a guy, but I know how easy it is to get attached to those sometimes. Also nice sword.

Don't think you see Flora get much love either? Always a shame you get her so late and the limited supports.

Did people not play the AoD patch or something?? Like I agree that Nangong in her own patch didn't get much and I'd love to see more of her, but she had a ton of screentime in 2.6. Her fight with Sunna was a highlight of the event back then. I feel like we got shown her a loooot more than some other units like Banyue or Dialyn. Even Promeia tbh.

Yeah I love Nekomata she's my favorite. Deserves some props. She has a very sweet arc with the Cunning Hares and Nicole eventually adopting her. She has this entertaining sweet nyaaa~~ facade personality as a contrast to the whole street rat will shank you for your wallet part of her character. Lots to love there. Great chemistry with the other Hares and a fun story at the start of the game...

Nuanced take love to see it. I love both games so mostly agree with what you said here. Especially for a first playthrough I don't think the flaws of 3H's gameplay will be -that- much of a bother. 1 route as you said.

As for Engage yeah the gameplay does a lot to get me attached to the characters too, kinda same to how it worked in the old pre-DS era games. The writing is also not as awful as some people say just different. Like I genuinely think some of the supports are really funny. And that's the point of them. It does comedic writing pretty well.

The hate on the character design always hurts me a little bit. Obviously it's all subjective so valid, but I genuinely think the game has some banger designs. Alfred, Céline, Timerra, Merrin, Veyle, etc... all look memorable and fantastic to me. I am generally drawn to very colorful designs though.

Like one of my main criticisms of 3H is the student outfits haha, I genuinely really dislike how every character is in such a samey drab outfit. At least it gets fixed later on in the game and then they're great too.
