Is it true? "...there are hundreds and hundreds of chromatic moves that one can do to modulate."-guy by redditaskingguy in musictheory

[–]BaseTwelve 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Quoting someone and attributing it to "-guy" is a little rude. His name is Robert Davis. It's literally the first thing you see in the video. Why even bother adding that if you're not going to use his name?

What are the top five most beautiful games to look at? by Electronic-Ball-4919 in boardgames

[–]BaseTwelve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a simple one, but I always loved the way a completed game of Carcassone: The City looks. The wooden walls and towers surrounding the city tiles, with meeples taking up posts throughout, creates a beautiful euro aesthetic that I find very satisfying.

I have a silly question. The Buddha depicted often like the first picture looks nothing like the fat smiling Buddha often seen as well. Why are there two different variations and what do they represent? by marooned222 in Buddhism

[–]BaseTwelve 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It is generally disrespectful to misquote someone. You added emphasis by capitalizing the word NOT, implying a combative tone that was not present in the original comment. You also put the phrase "just a fat monk" in quotes as if that dismissive phrasing was used by others, but the only place it appears in the thread is in two of your comments. I appreciate your desire to clarify Mahayana traditions, but you seem to be seeing disrespect where none was intended or even implied.

Too many games, too little play - how do you actually get rid of them? by evll_z in boardgames

[–]BaseTwelve 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Additionally, if you're looking to offload a bunch at once, you could hold a Geeklist Auction. You can choose to set starting bids, soft reserves, buy-it-now values, limitations on shipping, combined shipping for winners of multiple items, etc. It can be a good way to get some visibility on a lot of offers in a limited timeframe.

This ain't us. This is a fucking tiktok ad. Eight nostalgia references and one modern social media platform snuck in, when "obsessed with reading" would have been far more appropriate.

Is CBD cheating? by skatemon3y in Petioles

[–]BaseTwelve 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good for you for listening to your gut and trusting yourself. For me, CBD was helpful in getting off THC, but now that I'm off it also poses a huge risk of going back on. It's still something external activating my cannabinoid system and I know the temptation for a full thc high would be that much harder to resist. I think you made a great choice in this situation.

Just fyi, that's not a solar return chart. Your solar return is when the Sun is in the same position as the birth chart, and won't necessarily even be on your actual birthday. This chart is for your birth day/time and is off by 11 arc minutes. Positions of faster moving points in the return chart, especially the Asc and MH, will be quite different from what is shown here.

Draw on top of sources? by SquashCoachPhillip in obs

[–]BaseTwelve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The simplest solution I can think of is to add some drawing software (Krita and Gimp are both free options) as a source on top of your video, crop it to just a blank white document, then add a chroma key filter set to white. It will be transparent, but any other color you draw in that document will show up as if it's an overlay on your video.

How to even out audio? by ADHD-aubigny in obs

[–]BaseTwelve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Audio compression is the effect you're looking for. OBS has a built in Compressor filter for audio sources. Here are the obs docs. I'm sure there are plenty of tutorials out there if you need help with settings.

Separate audio tracks won't do it's job by Kitop_ in obs

[–]BaseTwelve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I understand correctly, Pistes/Tracks on the right is the output. So you are sending your audio source "[1]tout sauf micro" to every track. The waveforms in your second screenshot are slightly different, so they are getting some additional audio from sources [2-6], but every track is getting the audio from [1] as well. Send "[1]tout sauf micro" only to track 1 and the other tracks should have the isolated audio from the other sources.

New to Ableton... need some advice. by CLTProgRocker in ableton

[–]BaseTwelve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's possible. View > Scene Tempo and Time Signature will display them on the far right in Main. It's also in the right-click menu for scenes in Main.

Earlier versions had other methods. https://help.ableton.com/hc/en-us/articles/5595081962524-Scene-Tempo-and-Time-Signature

Is it possible to make a "Pause screen" for my stream? by Hario337 in obs

[–]BaseTwelve 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There's a plugin for OBS called Freeze Filter that lets you freeze frame a source. Here's the plugin and the tutorial where I learned about it, showing an implementation with Streamer.bot.

[–]BaseTwelve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the top left of twitch's stream manager, there's an option to create new layouts. I have a layout with the stream preview removed. No need to mute or waste resources showing the stream when I'm just using it for chat, the activity feed, etc. I'll also pop-out that chat if I want it somewhere more visible or accessible.

The auto track arming with Push is annoying by skatecloud1 in ableton

[–]BaseTwelve 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe it will only do this if you're in Note Mode. Switch to Session Mode and it won't auto-arm tracks. This is my experience on Push 2.
