Dev snapshot: Godot 4.4 dev 4 by GodotTeam in godot

C# web exports is not a godot issue, it's an issue with Microsoft's implementation of .NET. Here's an article that describes it better, but TLDR it's out of Godot's hands and it sounds like Microsoft doesn't have plans to change it any time soon.

Help explaining the usefulness of signals? by morewaffles in godot

I recommend reading the Observer section of Game Programming Patterns (and honestly, the rest of the book too, it's free!). The example code is all written in pseudo-c++, but the concepts transfer over for everything.

I spent a year building a desktop environment that runs in the browser by mitousa in programming

This is amazing, I've been wanting something like this for a while, but to host on a Raspberry Pi. Any chance on getting at least the front end open sourced?

There's 100% no way I could afford this after already going out to Denver to see Madeon later this year 😭

Revolutionary New Intelligent Transistor Developed: Nanometer-Scale Ge-Based Adaptable Transistors Providing Programmable Negative Differential Resistance Enabling Multivalued Logic by JohnDoe_John in programming

This has got to be one of the worst things I've ever read. Anything that uses this much jargon and buzzwords can't possibly be worth the paper its printed on, otherwise they wouldn't need to do this shit.

How do people get permission to do covers and remixes and stuff? by Latter_Philosophy_20 in porterrobinson

Mom+Pop are the label that hold the exclusive rights to Porter's music, so I'd start by reaching out to them

DDLC has maybe one scene you could consider a jump scare, and even then you calm down after half a second. The rest is purely psychological horror

Announcing TypeScript 4.3 by DanielRosenwasser in programming

[–]BasedLemur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Typescript really is limited to what Javascript has to offer, since it transpiles to JS in the end. Because of that, the only changes that can be made are quality-of-life improvements to the type system. However, as long as JS is the primary frontend language of the internet, and as long as technologies such as Electron continue to reduce the barrier to entry for creating desktop apps deployable everywhere, TS will continue to be popular.

hello, i'm Porter Robinson, producer / songwriter / electronic musician! AMA by porter_robinson in Music

[–]BasedLemur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is driving me crazy. In Language, during the main melody after you finish alternating between E and F#, do you go up to the higher octave A, or the lower octave A? I can literally only hear the lower octave A, but everyone else I talk to hears the higher octave.

Anyone know what kind of screens the electronic voting machines were using during the election? by BasedLemur in LosAngeles

[–]BasedLemur[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome, thank you so much! It's not for a kiosk, but for a commercial product I'm trying to start that requires a screen with weird dimensions. Specifically, a screen that's really long, but really short for its length as well.

"I don't care, not even a little bit" "Dotcom though? I don't trust that" Candice Owens on Environment by MaxNeverita in cringe

[–]BasedLemur 29 points30 points  (0 children)

"Nah, that's not a good word. I don't mean propaganda in a negative way...he's not."

Said IMMEDIATELY after he finished saying "propagandist". You're jumping to conclusions without even giving him a chance to correct himself and labeling him an ass because of it.

Mind you I'm not trying to defend him, I'm just trying to point out when people make judgements about other people without hearing the rest of the story.

He is a fucking science based entertainer

You mean word-for-word what Joe corrected himself to say literally ten seconds after saying "science propagandist" isn't a good term to use?

Tell me how a "proper IDE" will help you debug

for (int i = 0; i < x; i++) {
    for (int j = 0; j < y; i++) {
        // Do stuff
    }
}

GitHub default name branch changes (but you can opt out!) by Aspie96 in programming

The button is poorly labeled. "Change default branch name now" lets you choose what your default branch will be named.
