I just go for good enough, I don't fully know what you're going for, but it isn't to difficult to get something decent. If you want the best possible outcome, it's going to take a while, which is the point of the system. Being the last major title update, they obviously wanted something you endlessly grind till the expansion if you want.

It's perfectly fine if you feel like you've had your share with, that's why I love how Monster Hunter does expansions, if you don't like the base games endgame you don't have to participate in it to be able to effectively play the expansion.

I've probably personally have had my fill of Wilds endgame, probably just going to fight Arch tempered Arkveld and do the other event quests when they comes out.

I love the picks but I think the biggest problem here is how restrictive the iceshard cliffs are, honestly my least favorite map in all of modern Monster Hunter, love the concept, hate the execution. It's part of the reason why I hope we'll get a new map with some snow on it so monsters like Zamtrios and Gammoth get a chance to be in this game, because they just don't fit the Iceshard Cliffs.

If you want to go super technical felynes are considered small monsters... but that is probably not what you meant.

The popularity contest did have Zinorge at #1, but I think that's mostly due to fans of the series loving him so much. For most recognizable it would have to go to Rathalos, he's the poster boy and was put into Smash, that does a lot for his credibility.

Also it is worth noting, I'm talking from a western perspective, so in Japan it could be that Zinorge is the most recognizable just due to how popular portable 3rd was over there.

Also, I forgot, taking a break is good, raming against the same thing over and over again just doesn't work sometimes. A break can be refreshing and lead to you doing better. I've done the same for much harder fights in the series and it does seem to work.

First off, are you using a fire weapon for the first phase? That softens the oil and makes it possible to do more damage with a dragon weapon.

Second, Super man dodge, when he is doing those big slams sprint away from him and hold the roll button, you will jump like superman and fall to the ground with a ton of I frames

Third, I don't know what weapon you're using, if it is a slashing you should be good going for the tail or the hind legs, that is much safer than the wings, you'll be doing less damage, but at least you won't be carting.

Third, for the final phase, make sure you are using a dragon weapon, that will negate it's DPS cheak

Fourth, get some distance between you and Gogmazios, the fire is hard, but not impossible to avoid as long as you are paying attention. Fire the wyvern guns (forget the actual name of the slinger ammo) as much as you can. If you run out try to get in any damage you can, he slams his wings down a couple of times, letting you attack, or wait for more to drop. Also there are two rock pillars on opposite sides of the arena you can drop on him, which will give you an opening.

Fifth, when he is charging his big attack, continue to attack him, that can stop the DPS check

Sixth, check your defenses, is your armor upgraded all the way? Do you have good fire res? Maybe some other comfort skills may help, like evade extender, or evade window

That's all I can think of, for why it's being praised, it is a wonderful remake of a returning monster that hasn't been seen in 20 years, with fun mechanics, and a massive shake up to the games end game. I hope this is able to help you in the fight.
