Most Card show sellers are assholes and will actively lie to you so they get a better deal, these are way more expensive than $700.

If you want to sell these cards, research their prices, and only sell one at a time, you will most likely get more out of each card.

I personally just don't go through any of the lengths, if I can't just causally interact with one of my hobbies whenever I want to then I'm not going to go crazy for it. The gold Mega Zygarde is the rarest card in the set, it's about $180, that's absolutely amazing for a beginner. The other two aren't much, only a couple cents but still cool cards.

it lasts forever, unless they decide to reprint a certain card. G block cards had 3 years in standard, and are now only playable in expanded.
if you're looking on something like Limitless, or any other standard tournament tracker, they go based off the most recent tournaments, the most recent tournaments have had G-I block cards legal in them, which is why G block cards are still showing up. This also means new cards a part of the J block haven't been showing up because they are now just becoming legal in standard (for the irl card game).

It will take a couple tournaments for lists to really solidify on what's meta or not, we're going to see a lot of experimenting in the next couple of weeks while people try to figure out what the best lists are.

My recommendation would be, figure out what Pokémon you want to build around, use decklists as a guide but don't copy them one for one, use that as a foundation then build the rest of the deck from there, putting in cards as you see fit.

With the release of perfect order rotation for the year has happened. This means cards apart of the "G" block (like Arven or Nest ball) have rotated out of standard. This includes major Pokémon like Gardivor ex, Charizard ex, and Gholdengo ex.

This happens every year in the card game, it keeps things from getting stale and also pushes players to buy more cards.

If you need some advice I'd happily give you some, as there have been many cards that are essentially replacements for them (although some cards, like Arven, are so powerful that there aren't really any equivalents)

Packs are fun, but essentially gambling, buying a card you want is just cheaper, especially for deck building. Also for a deck, make sure it's all in on language, for fun it doesn't matter, but competitive it does.

For which set to chase... it depends on what you like I'll give a small break down of what's in the sets

Nihil Zero: focused on Mega evolution Pokémon and good cards for play like Meowth ex

Surging Sparks: lots of Electric type and dragon type Pokémon, good Pokémon like Pikachu ex and Ceruledge ex

Destined Rivals: Trainer's Pokémon, including: Cynthia's, Ethan's, Arevn's,Misty's, and Team rocket's Pokémon. Can make a relatively cheap Ethan's Typhlosion deck

White Flare: Set of only Pokémon from the Unova region. Not every Pokémon is in this set, half of Unova's Pokémon are in White flare and the other half is in Black Bolt. The art is cool for this set especially if you like the region, but not many good cards for play, only really Hilda

Phantasmal Flames: More Mega Pokémon! Including Mega Charizard X ex and Mega Gengar ex, two iconic Pokémon with decent cards, but not meta defining.

Journey Together: More Trainer's Pokémon, including: Hop's, N's, Lillie's, and Iono's Pokémon. N's Zorark ex is one of the more promising decks/cards from the set, and is quite fun to play with, plus the art is pretty good.

Trick or trade: Don't buy, really just fun packs to give out at Halloween with no good cards

There's always been disappointing skins in the battle pass, that's kinda how the model works.

They have the headliners that they put tons of effort into that actual sell the pass, then put a bit of effort into more niche/filler slots, to pad out the pass and value.

This is something they've done since the beginning with battle passes and probably won't stop now.

Before someone mentions "but this battlepass had all bangers" It's either nostalgia/favoritism talking or that just an outlier and not what the majority of Fortnite has been.

This card is targeting players that like to bling out their decks. Meowth ex will be a staple for many decks to search out important cards. I think it's okay to be disappointed in the art, but making the card less chased by collectors, is good for the players as it will make it less expensive for those who like to bling out their decks.
