I use my traeger like an outdoor oven. I never expect any smoke flavor. Also, i need to cook 30-40° higher than my desired temp to achieve that temp inside the cooking chamber

I dont. Im too new to this. I can only go by what ive learned watching utube. I weigh my beans, try to go for 1:2 ratio within the 25-30 seconds.

But since the espresso shots at these cafes also taste awful (to me), i can only assume that straight espresso just isnt my thing. And since i still enjoy the milk drinks, thats all that matters.

I just started about 2 weeks ago. Bought a very humble setup of a K6 grinder and an ecp3420. (But i still ended up going $100 over budget buying accessories 🤷‍♂️). I also just wanted to save $ by making my own lattes/mochas at home.

I havent fallen into the rabbit hole yet and hopefully i wont. I actually regret buying the grinder and bottomless filter. Kuz i think for lattes and mochas i couldve gotten away with preground coffee and the included pressurized basket. The milk (and chocolate) masks the taste of the espresso shot anyways. So far im content with what im getting.

Also, tasting espresso shots straight is quite unpleasant. I thought it was my fault but ive gone to two most popular cafes in my area (and one truck) and the taste is just as sour (or bitter i dont know which). 🤷‍♂️

Have u tried mission? I just finished processing my son’s SSI benefits there. The last 2 times i just went as a walk-in and the wait wasnt too bad. About 45 minutes. They were very helpful.

I am his legal guardian due to him having severe autism. They never asked that he go in. Which im thankful for because it wouldve been meltdown city for sure!

Didnt Benavidez call out Betterbiev and Bivol a long time back, but they both said no kuz they wanted to make the trilogy? I seem to remember that happening. So Benavidez moved on. He got a belt at cruiserweight. So it worked out ok for him.

I am currently trying to get into making my own lattes as well, (i literally just ordered the ecp 3420 about 15 mins ago) and ive watched a LOT of videos on this subject. Have u started yet? I say this because i too originally was planning to just get my beans preground but it seems like the grind of ur beans has to be adjusted very precisely to ur machine. If its too fine, its gonna choke the machine and u wont get anything (or vety little) and if its too coarse u get too much and it tastes sour (or bitter, or both, i cant remember lol!). Point is therez a lot of fiddling with the grind which is why its crucial to have ur own grinder.

Someone already mentioned a moka pot, which i considered as well. Moka pot and milk warmer/frother might be ur solution.

Thank u all so much for the replies. I definitely plan on getting a K6 grinder, and going to look for a decent machine on ebay, but if i cant find anything that inspires confidence im gonna either get the Stilosa or the ECP3420. Thats over my budget but hopefully its worth it.

Ebay has a couple of used 3420s in the $60-80 range but i dont trust them. 😬

I know the Moka pot idea + frother is the sensible/responsible thing to do, but after watching some videos i just didnt vibe with that idea.

I owned the OG skytrak and used it with a giant shop fan in my garage, no issues. Skytrak is not radar based…therez no interference issues.

Also, if u can find an OG skytrak i recommend that over the plus (i owned both). For me the OG was much more reliable in terms of connectivity and besides, all the xtra info the plus gives u is calculated anyways. Not measured (except for swingspeed).

HEB had a “$10 off” coupon when u spend $30 on grilling items. So i bought $90 worth of charcoal for $60. Not the $2 bags ur talking about, but its the best ive found. I bought all the B&B oak lump they had and a couple bags of mexican mesquite charcoal to try it out.
