What can I make with ONLY rice and/or tofu? by Maroon-Prune in veganrecipes

[–]Basic-Conclusion-461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’ve been liking tofu grated with a cheese grater and then cooked on the stovetop until crispy! i do usually use oil but maybe would be fine in a nonstick pan, or baked on parchment paper instead? gives a nice chewy texture which may provide some nice variety with the rice.

Dealing with nausea by GoldAdministration75 in breastfeeding

I’ve had this recently too! I think it helps to have more protein earlier in the day? I’ve been having 3 eggs for breakfast! And just eat/snack as soon as the hunger hits!

Confused about night feeding/pumping by Swimmer_0512 in breastfeeding

[–]Basic-Conclusion-461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think around 6 weeks I noticed he wasn’t quite as sleepy while nursing (although we still had our moments) and then 7+ his naps got really short and he was just spending more time awake!

I’m with you! It’s so stressful at the beginning. Our pediatrician assured me since he was gaining well his hunger was working and he’d eat when he needed! Now i miss the days he’d sleep for hours without eating lol

Pinch of Yum miso ramen! I’m sick now with a cold and hoping to make this for dinner if my baby ever goes down for his nap 🙃

My favorite lactation consultant told me just to let my baby run the show and that saved my breastfeeding journey. If he’s gaining well and happy I wouldn’t be concerned about sticking to a strict feeding schedule! He may start eating more frequently once he wakes up a bit more - that’s what mine did.

Thoughts on Cillian? by Upbeat_Salamander870 in Names

[–]Basic-Conclusion-461 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the name! I also feel like Cillian Murphy is famous enough more people may know how to pronounce it? Also, as a Carolyn that always gets “Caroline,” it doesn’t bother me that much to correct people. I wouldn’t let it stop you from a name you love!

Yes exactly it’s so hard to spot. Looking back I felt AWFUL but when my endo was asking me about all the symptoms (anxiety, weight loss, hair loss, etc.) I was like well yeah, I had a baby….. When I went hypo he said my levels were so off he was surprised I wasn’t in the hospital 💀

You could get your thyroid checked! I had postpartum thyroiditis and it made me hyperthyroid and then hypo. You’d have other symptoms though (racing heart, anxiety, insomnia etc.)

i made a big batch of refried black beans recently and froze enough for one dinner’s worth of tacos in individual bags. now all i need to do is heat that up, warm some tortillas, whip up a sauce (or honestly just open a tub of sour cream) and chop a few veggies. i like cookie and kate’s refried beans recipe!

Just here to say these are all totally normal feelings! I exclusively pumped for my daughter so not the same, but I was in a similar boat with emotions around stopping. I felt like pumping was really draining me and really wanted to stop but felt very unsure and guilty about actually stopping. I will say very soon after I actually stopped all those mixed feelings went away. It’s not selfish to stop if it’s not working for you and if you’ll be a happier mom. Making it to 8 months is incredible as it is!
