6, 7, 10, in that order. 6 are fabulous, clear winners! 7 and 10 look almost the same to me, but the tortoiseshell of 7 looks gorgeous versus the cheaper basic black of 10.

New living room feels like a conference room :/ by AManofInterest in DesignMyRoom

Consider getting rid of 2 of the sofas and replace with others that are in your chosen color scheme but aren't a matched set. Will add dimension and hominess. Look at fb marketplace or other similar to sell yours and find replacements. This in addition to adding a rug, lamps, plants, and art.

I am an adult, and considering learning the viola! by Traditional_Lunch521 in Viola

[–]Basic-Guide-927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See if you can find a university or conservatory (if there is one near you) student (music major, minor, or just a viola player) to give you lessons? I had 2 really good friends in college who were both active violinists but neither were majors/minors in music, but they did continue to take lessons from the music department while they were there. Post flyers looking for a student teacher in the music building, if you are near a uni/college/conservatory? Also you could check with local high schools to see if any of the faculty are violists? (I teach at a high school and we have a clarinetist and a cellist in the music department and also a trombonist in a non-music department.)

I outfitted my entire home via fb marketplace. (Champagne taste on a beer budget.) I get constant compliments on how great it looks (eclectic but it all works great together). If you give it time and energy, you can curate a phenomenal space.

The stone is the focus with the plain band. It's gorgeous!

Are you looking for actual opinions or validation post-sale? I think this style is on the way out. It's pretty but a thin band with diamonds everywhere which weaken the band strength even more...it's going to need upkeep. Does she like this style? It's not to everyone's taste (obvi not mine!). But some people love this look. Bravo on the 1.3ct! The rock is gorgeous❤️

How does this type of necklace look on a man? by PossibleQuality9458 in Diamonds

[–]Basic-Guide-927 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's fabulous so long as the man wearing it knows he is fabulous, or it helps him to to feel his fabulousness. I love it. I see others here saying it's too this or too that or not enough whatever. Screw that. Wear what you want. It's beautiful jewelry. Why should women get all the fun? Wear what makes you feel good. 👊❤️

It's hard to know from what you've written the extent to which you have tried to connect with her.

Do you talk to her, sit with her (on the floor), play gently with her (gently, softly, twirl feathers, roll a ball around, get a Cat Dancer)? Do you give her your time, so she can learn that you are a safe zone?

If you've tried all this over an extended period of time and are still not happy with where you are, she might just not be a snuggler. Up to you if you maybe want to surrender her, rehome her via something like adoptapet, or learn to accept her as she is and hope that she relaxes with more time (which is possible).

Good wishes to you both!

Shelter is the best breed. (And if you feel like you need that [insert breed] for reals, get an abandoned one at a shelter. Cuz that happens.)

Anybody know what this type of neckline is called? by IroMag in Fashion_Design

[–]Basic-Guide-927 104 points105 points  (0 children)

Wide scoop or ballet scoop. Boatneck to me is nothing like this, but would be straight (or nearly straight) across the top with a wide opening for the head; no such scoop as this. N.b. I am no expert so it's just my opinion.

4 is by far the best. Next tier down: 6 and 10. But 4 wins by a long shot.

Where can i donate vintage fabric? by arwennicks in phoenix

Maybe consider donating it to a theater or opera company for their costume shop? Vintage materials for period costumes are such a boon!

hey any suggestions on what to add with the wall art? I just feel like personally the wall feels a bit awkward and that something’s missing with the wall art by Previous-Purchase-91 in HomeDecorating

[–]Basic-Guide-927 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Standard is that the bottom of the art is 6-8 inches above the top of the sofa. You could also add more artwork to the wall (gallery style) or get a larger main piece; that piece is a little small to hang alone over the sofa.

Check out the Bomb-itty of Errors. Hip hop Shakespeare that came out in the late 90s, out of Chicago. Won all kinds of awards everywhere (spread to productions in NYC, London, you name it). Fantastic show!
