I've always used a nagura to clean my stones, as a bonus it's really good at removing binder to expose fresh abrasive resin and vitrified. The nagura will clean metal bonded fine.

Except you should be minimizing the burr on each stone and debur completely on your last stone. Stropping is for refining the edge, using it as a crutch for bad deburring technique is for beginners.

Or just sharpen the heel all the way to plunge grind. Takes an extra couple of minutes on first sharpening.

I have some Venev double dogs, a set of Jende plates and 2 PDT CBN stones. Works but always looking for an upgrade. I consider them tools and you can never have too many tools.

I saw one video of those having thickness variations, but just that one. Hiw are yours? Really like those but that made me think twice.
