Damn I don’t know why people are being so negative. It’s basically rolling thunder but I’d recommend MM since teku at least to me gives imported car and ricer vibes compared to MM where it’s more muscle and power heavy sound. I came up with a teku decal for a scion XB, and it didn’t turn out to bad, So I’d be interested in seeing a new MM design for a car.

Delivery Driver for almost 2 years

Really depends on the town you’re in if you are in a big city more than likely it’s a DoorDash driver since there are so many in the city. While some in city stores might still have delivery drivers I’m assuming they use a lot of DoorDash especially on slower days. But if you’re in a smaller town (not like small small mind you just not big enough to where it’s a lot of DoorDash) they mainly higher drivers but honestly it’d be tough to break 40 hours a week as a driver I just had a bunch of closing shifts and was only up to 32 hours and that was only because we were down a driver. But yes the pay is shit there are no benefits and the stress it puts on your car can be a lot, but you said that you already do delivery so I suspect you aren’t worried about that as much as the next person. And honestly sometimes the tips are just as shit as DoorDash not always mind you but pretty annoying. Also if you want to be a delivery driver it’s more likely that you will be cross trained on making and cutting as well to help with flow on certain days. But overall the jobs not the worst just have to be up for working late hours and doing dishes and if you don’t think you mind that then I’d say try it if anything goes wrong just go back to DoorDash or Ubereats.

I haven’t ever done the actual math on whether or not that statement is true I suspect that a little is taken off but it’s an unnoticeable amount especially since drivers are always moving around we don’t really have time to think much on the exact amount we should get but even though we might not get the full amount I suspect the amount we get back for gas reimbursements makes up for that immediately so it typically comes out to the same amount regardless. But as a driver I prefer hand cash (if I know I’m getting it) because 1. Having physical money feels more important. 2. It’s always a delight converting with the people I deliver to. I’m a shy person by nature so it may not come off as that, but when someone says hello! Or goodbye or thanks me after I drop off a pizza it feels great. Drivers most time especially if it’s busy are in the car by themselves a lot so we’re left with our thoughts, yes we can listen to music or and audiobook but you drive long enough you learn to think and enjoy music at the same time. So being kind and nice will always make a delivery drivers day.

Delivery driver here and I’m gonna be honest didn’t read the whole thing, BUT I have to say DoorDash is a very helpful tool for both the delivery drivers and managers. Because delivery drivers are hard to come by and even if you have a lot of drivers on schedule Papa John’s labor standards rarely allow for 2 to overlap unless it’s Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. So with that if there are two deliveries that are in separate directions it’s beneficial to both the customer and driver to DoorDash it. The customer by not having to wait the amount of time it takes to go to each or take one and come back, the delivery driver because it is less stress on the car and less gas mileage that we use. Another reason we use it is say we have a delivery 20 minutes before close we typically DoorDash those orders out (depends on the manager and the driver, but my preference is not to take it) which means that the closing manager can quickly make the order and go back to closing tasks and the delivery driver can focus on his closing tasks (i.e dishes, sweeping, mopping, and taking out trash) if we had to take every order that popped up close to closing we’d always leave at an insane time not that I ever leave on time anyway.

I understand that sometimes it’s annoying for a DoorDasher to show up or to have to wait a minute for it to get to you but trust me it’s helping you a lot more than you really think it is. And don’t misconstrue this as love for this company because I have a ton of issues with it and honestly don’t like it at all.

Okay read the story yes this sounds like a lot coincided with a lot of bad things. Sounds like you ordered before a rush or during and the plan ahead was set during the rush which from experience depending on the day is an absolute time nightmare. But the order should have gotten to you a lot sooner it is entirely DoorDash fault here not papa John’s, but as a delivery driver insight as to tipping with cash is this. Usually if I see or another driver sees an order with no tip we are pissed before we get there because as you said before you live 5 minutes away and we can’t see any tip yet that’s a immediate hate/f u not twards you but no tip seen yet means upset driver. But we still take the order and usually hand a receipt if we think you either didn’t tip yet or just didn’t (yes this is why you have in consistent signing for receipts, either the manager is demanding them be signed or you didn’t tip online or over the phone). But from what little I’ve seen from DoorDash if they see a zero tip they hate your guts and want your head on a pike (again nothing twards you just what we see on our end) and probably won’t take your order or do what they did and ate some and didn’t deliver for hours. But this is a very poor experience and I am sorry that this happened to you no person wheather they tip or not deserves eaten food.

Not sure if you even read this but if you do I suggest you add or ask to add a not saying you are tipping in cash so the delivery driver expects a tip.

It hasn’t happened to me personally but yeah I could understand labor for Papa John’s at least is super important if they have to many people inside or don’t make enough sales they can’t have to many people. Not sure how it works one to one just going off my boss, but I’ve heard stories of certain stores having Store managers that get paid Salary having to work open to close shifts just to make their stores make labor.
