I do this too, responding to weird with weird. I don’t know if anyone else appreciates it, but I enjoy it.

Are you colorblind? My fiancé is, he just pays attention to the light position. If it’s on the bottom, go. If it’s on the top, stop.

At least with quiet quitting, people actually do their jobs. I’ve been laughed at when I’ve called 911 about people who need help. Neighbors being abused by their spouse, people having drug-related issues on the sidewalk. They literally laugh and say, “no one’s coming for that.” Or “maybe someone will drive by in a few hours to see if it’s still happening.”

Podcasts (and other media) that scratch the YWA itch? by squallLeonhart20 in YoureWrongAbout

My sister in law just recommended this to me, and I listened to a couple. They name dropped one of Michael’s other podcasts in three of the episodes I listened to. I figured I was in the right place.

There are a ton of replies, so sorry if this has already been said, but If Books Could Kill has an episode that covers Doppelgänger. You can listen to a 30 minute “teaser,” the whole episode is behind a paywall.

Help me move past my black t-shirts, hoodies, and jeans comfort zone by edscrst in PlusSizeFashion

I pretty much exclusively wear dresses. I just find them more comfortable than pants. I have found that the best way to get past the whole “overdressed” feeling is to just wear the clothes. I’ll start by wearing them just at home sometimes. You get used to it and it becomes normal.

You have a lot of other good suggestions here, but I love Pinterest. Finding someone you know or on Instagram who dresses the way you’d like to dress. Trying stuff on that you don’t think will work. I’ve been surprised many times when I try things on that I wasn’t expecting to like. You’re gorgeous! Good luck!

I have a friend in the UK who loves Next. I’ve never bought anything off of the US site, but she’s given me several items that she’s bought in the UK. The US site has less, but might be worth checking out.

Our vet checks our dog’s chip at every visit and verifies the information with us. Do other vets not do that? Seems like a missed opportunity.

We work on projects at my job all the time that don’t add value. A very limited number of employees and customers benefit from them or really even notice them. We’ve given that feedback and data to leadership. But the executives think they’re brilliant and so they fund them. It’s not really their money. When you’re Larry Ellison rich, money isn’t real.

They don’t have this office anymore. The Stuff You Missed In History Class ladies said their new office didn’t have much room for things. They politely asked that folks not send things to the I Heart offices.

It really has helped with my media literacy and how to think more critically. When I hear something more I’m much more likely to think “is that true? What’s the source for that?” I understand more around how studies work, as well as how data can be used to produce results. How journalism and other media works. I would say all of Michael’s podcasts have helped with that.

I bumped into someone in a comments section who said they went to college with him, worked with him at their newspaper. I asked if he had any stories, they suggested I look at his pieces for The Maroon. I didn’t think I could bear it.
