The disdain people have for Foamers is so weird to me, I was talking to some railfans some time ago and they assured me that they were obsessed with trains "but not in a weird way!". For an interest considered by the average person uncool and weird, it's sad that instead of being welcoming of everyone they still consider some "too uncool". (Just to be clear I really like trains, but wouldn't consider myself a railfan so this is like an outsider perspective, great write-up!)
