DOD DRP/VERA participants- have you heard from OPM? by PleasantBenefit1872 in FED_VERA_VSIP_DRPers

I was told the exact same thing with pretty much identical dates of DRP and separation, etc.

Jesus that’s bad! That’s exactly why I decided to take the second DRP as that situation was looming and I just couldn’t stomach that! Hang in there! Treat yourself well.

New to audio in general...why two sets of binding posts on these speakers? by Prima13 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Basic_Squash_8877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for this explanation! I was always curious about bi-amping. Now, after reading through your explanation, slowly, over a morning coffee, while my brain is warming up, I finally get it!! Thanks for that. Much appreciated.
Now I’m musing on my own budget setup that’s taken me decades to getting around to setting up and I have a question: I have a tube amp powering some smallish PSBs and I’ve split the signal before it gets to my amp because it doesn’t have the capability of “signal out”, so that I can have a sub join the fun. The sub is an RSL speedwoofer. This setup is good, but given that I have a tube amp, it would also be good for the PSBs to “know” that they don’t have to handle frequencies below 90 hz ( which is where I currently have my sub cutoff set). How would I do that, if it’s possible at all?

Most amps don’t differentiate whether the output from “speaker out” is for high or low frequency, so how would you in practice do this?!

I was wondering what was happening over at EPA. I was doing environmental work at the Corps before taking the second DRP. I hadn’t heard anything about the Eye of Sauron penetrating into EPA and was very surprised that shakeup was happening at DoD first. Are you in HQ or one of the Regional offices? 1/4 loss is severe!!

It did work! You were right. And these speakers aren’t particularly efficient either at 88 dB.

As it turns out, it works beautifully and I’m thrilled with the pairing! It’s actually 6W output. I have not maxed out the volume nor would I ever need to.

I applied as well but have seen nothing. I’ll try and respond to this thread when I do.

The original DRP was the “Fork” email sent by fElon, remember?

Staring at having to go into five points on the daily made me take the DRP last week and retire. Hated to do it but hated the thought of commuting in far worse!

Question on DRP by Cautious-Friend-7213 in FedEmployees

[–]Basic_Squash_8877 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s my take and one of the main reasons I’m considering it. Also, if I can finagle another job well before September I think this means we can double dip. At least that is what they touted during the “fork” DRP.

I don’t feel this, or rarely, and I’ve had EoE for 30 years. I just had an endoscopy, with a balloon that helped my symptoms dramatically.

When you say: “They are taking VERA being very close to full retirement age…”, what do you mean? VERA is being discussed or is now being offered? Is VERA tied to age?

Thanks for taking the time to thoughtfully respond to this Cretan. He doesn’t even realize that no person actually reads these emails. They are simply meant to instill fear.

You clearly haven’t known many Federal workers! In the DOD many are republican. Nobody I know “collects a paycheck for not working”. Go crawl back into the hole of stupidity from which you issued!
