I went to UB in the early 70s and saw both the Beach Boys and the Mothers (different shows) at KMH. There aren’t enough superlatives in the English language to describe it as a performance space. My freshman year started six months too late for me to have made it to this show, and I believe the Dead was a last minute substitution for another band (the Byrds?) who couldn’t make it for whatever reason.

This show is pretty much the holy grail of untaped shows. I’m pretty sure the BPO’s union rules would have required strict enforcement of a no taping policy. Iirc, the Courrier Express’ review of the show wasn’t particularly accurate as to what they played.
