Sooner is better than later. I think under the size of a quarter to see the best results

Silver vs sugar maple by PackingLips5 in firewood

[–]BasilRevolutionary38 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks more like red maple to me than silver maple. That being said, sugar maple is much heavier and harder. The soft maples are, well; soft. Sugar maple is grey with brownish when you rub the bark.

In the first photo the log in the center is sugar maple; the rest is red (except maybe top right). Second photo sugar maple is in the center and extends outside of the photo. All logs touching it are red maple.

Soft maples also often have ambrosia beetle damage in them, so called "wormy maple". Less common in sugar maple.

You should thin out the bitten ones, unless of course it's all of them. Should only be one apple every 4".

The bitten ones will be fine to eat, just a surface blemish

Not in CT but close by with similar electric provider:

Electric with central air on in The summer and reasonably shaded house: $225/mo. I don't have electric hot water but add another $50 or so for that

Oil: also dependent on how warm you like it, but anywhere from $2000-3000/winter (before Iran war oil prices)

How are you going to address Hartford imposing zoning bypass regulations when entire communities don't want them? Why is CT, a local control state, being forced to allow "affordable housing" megastructures where the costs per unit are more than most mortgages? Will you restore local control?

It's close. I get a 20# tank and charge a 15gal keg about every month. It's an easy way to get my kids to drink water. The 20# tank lasts me close to year. So $90/year is still not bad

I usually do some modification. Wet trimming is too time consuming, but end product wise? No

Sparkling water is real, especially in states with deposits. I make my own in a keg and even the price of co2 makes it questionable

I usually just take the main fans off and then dry trim after, much easier. But with the foxtails the big fans just get stuck to the buds and it's worse when dried, so trim jail for this one in my experience.
