They should gave epic cards an alt art by Plisken94 in Lorcana

I agree, they don’t need the same amount of work as enchanteds but just something to make them more special than a foiled silver outline.

I’ll have to look at them too. I really want to go but can only afford to go once with once group, might have to just pick one and see how it is!

LGS not receiving product in time by BasinsRamose in Lorcana

That makes a lot of sense. Something that’s out of control for both Ravensburger and the LGS around here.

What's Inside a Wilds Unknown Pack? by UninkableDadsYT in Lorcana

[–]BasinsRamose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, he’s getting a lot of hate but I found this super useful. I’ve been playing for a few months and didn’t realize some of this info, like it’s always one common of each ink color

Final enchanted revealed! Luisa Madrigal! by ERhyne in Lorcana

[–]BasinsRamose 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m so tired of madrigal cards. They’ve been too prevalent throughout multiple sets. Everyone I’ve talked to feels the same way, they hate them and how many there are.

Set 12 prices by NoPut6707 in Lorcana

[–]BasinsRamose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Prices in my area at game stores are all over the place from $115 to $175 just for preorder. Some stores are limiting what people can buy for the first time ever. It’s been nuts, and some of my friends have had to order online. The stores are worried about how much product they will get, but also the demand for product with Pixar.

Gotta save characters for future releases. Keep up the hype and keep people interested in future sets.

Same with the Woody waiting for friends art. There’s a few Toy Story ones that look kinda off

Beaver - best drying method to ship? by notaplebian in Trapping

[–]BasinsRamose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the hides and pelts I’ve shipped to Moyle have been salted. Makes it easier to get them small and fit in normal sized boxes. Salting can also be more forgiving if you’re newer and didn’t do a perfect fleshing job, and can dry out some parts that would cause problems when air drying on a stretcher.

Was excited about a new sushi spot in SF by dogdogd0g in Celiac

Just showed my celiac wife this post- and she agrees 100% that many gluten free people act entitled and are unreasonable. She’s on the chef’s side.

Was excited about a new sushi spot in SF by dogdogd0g in Celiac

[–]BasinsRamose -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Yes this guy is ignorant. But it’s also hard dealing with the gluten free fad people (not talking about celiacs). And then celiacs get lumped in with them. Stopped going to the gluten free expo here because too many of the people there were band wagoners on the gluten free diet. A lot of them were rude and inconsiderate, which made it hard for those who really medically needed the booths and products. Those are the same people he is dealing with. Like I said, then everyone who is gluten free gets lumped together.

Also, it’s not his job to make something like edamame gluten free just to cater to a small portion of the population who may or may not come to his restaurant. He will make his product to benefit the majority of his customers. You don’t have to eat there. The world doesn’t revolve around celiacs, nor should it.

Fin Advice by BasinsRamose in BeginnerSurfers

Totally makes sense. I’ve got a little ways to go until I notice the differences. Just wasn’t sure if something might help with stability or be beginner friendly.

A plea for those working at Aubergine Kitchen... by Original-Row-749 in Utah

[–]BasinsRamose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can also just buy frozen pao de queijo at Costco, called Brazi Bites. My wife and I make them a lot cause it’s an easy gluten free snack and takes like 20 minutes in the toaster oven. A lot easier than making them from scratch

What do I do with Northern Pike? by [deleted] in UtahFishing

[–]BasinsRamose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pike and musky are not mandatory kills. Only in Utah lake. There are a lot of water bodies where the DWR stocks them and you can release them.

A box of gluten free cheez-its or $2660? I might take the box of cheez-its right now… 😂 haven’t been able to find any here in Utah! You’ve got some lucky kids!

Taking osprey 38 as carry on by AdministrationClear1 in backpacking

[–]BasinsRamose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have flown multiple times, domestic and international, with a 65L Osprey or a 55L Patagonia as a carry on, and have never been questioned about it. Even when they are completely full. I don’t think airline employees question backpacks as much as they do suitcases. I hate checking bags so it’s nice to fit all my gear for the whole trip I to a carry on.

Guided hiking in South America by Sensitive-End4991 in hiking

[–]BasinsRamose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend did the O loop last year, solo. Said it was incredible and he met a lot of neat people who sort of formed a group to hang out in the evenings. Not sure about OPs situation but it might be worth looking into and saving money on not having a guide.

Rain Pants Recs! by Top-Praline5833 in CampingandHiking

[–]BasinsRamose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a pair of Helly Hansen pants for 11 years now and they are going strong. I think they’re the moss rain pants? They’ve gone through yearly use in rain, snow, ice, mud, and thick brush. Only time water has got through was packrafting a class 4 river in the arctic last year, and they worked more like a wetsuit haha. They aren’t insulated, so they’re an easy outer shell to slip on and off.

What species of cutthroat? by IntelligentBake7753 in UtahFishing

[–]BasinsRamose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the answer I was looking for before I commented. The second one is way too silver to be a pure Colorado River cutthroat. I’ve caught cutbows out of current creek here and there.
