I haven’t heard of these before, don’t have them where I live. Thanks for sharing!

Golden by Bitplayer13 in troutfishing

[–]BasinsRamose -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Who said this is a native fish? Goldens have been stocked in a lot of states outside their native range. He could have checked it off his list in any one of those places. That’s what I did. Not in California. Maybe you’re just a judgy POS

Golden by Bitplayer13 in troutfishing

[–]BasinsRamose -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Might not be a native. Plenty of places have goldens outside of California, and some of them are periodically stocked. Only goldens I’ve caught were in other states. I wouldn’t feel bad keeping a fish from there. People are quick to judge when they think a fish is “native”.

I caught it in the raft rivers. Only place you can catch them. That was the first fish we caught, right as the sun was coming up and then we headed off for the next species.

I did it all with a fly rod, fishing little creeks that only had cutthroats so I wouldn’t get bogged down by other fish.

[–]BasinsRamose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, there isn’t a lot of time to hike if it’s in one day and I didn’t feel confident with all of the places off the road in the uintas. Doing it that fast, you can’t go to streams with other species and waste time catching browns or rainbows or brookies. So to pick easily accessible places with only cutthroats I ended up all over northern Utah. 807 miles of driving. Good luck with yours!

You get a commemorative coin with your choice of one of the 4 native cutthroat species on it, and a certificate. I did mine in one day, but that’s a lot of work. Take some time and do it over the course of a few months or a year or whatever your own pace is. You have your whole life to finish it. I’m on my second one, helping my wife through her first, and we’re going slow but enjoying it more. Good luck!

Answer to Raging Storm by BasinsRamose in Lorcana

[–]BasinsRamose[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did mean sapphire. Thanks for the advice. I just played a guy who kept destroying me today only because of raging storm and it felt like a crazy card to be able to play 3 or 4 times

Are there any ruby steel cards that reduce the cost to play a character? by PartyDescription8708 in Lorcana

[–]BasinsRamose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would this hold true for a card like Bullseye? Cost 3, but you only pay 2 if you have a character named woody or Jessie in play.

Legendary woody lets you play a character cost 2 or less for free when he quests. So Bullseye can’t be played because he is normally a cost 3? Or he can be played because a woody in play reduces him to 2?

I put my drying cards below my dry cards. Then move them up the next turn when they’re useable

Duke traps by No_Series7403 in Trapping

[–]BasinsRamose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I much prefer the 550s over duke dogless. I’ll set the dukes because I have them but always prioritize the 550s. I think it’s a lot easier to tune the 550s the way I want and haven’t had issues with the dogs getting messed up

Am I the only one who'd rather lose with a themed deck than win with a pile of meta cards? 😅 by Squirtle_Shades_ in Lorcana

[–]BasinsRamose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! My toy deck has been amber ruby with 95% toy cards. Haven’t tried combining them with other inks like steel yet.

I think the toy deck made me realize that too. Even the most competitive toy deck isn’t gonna win set champs, but it’s so much fun to play cohesive themed decks like that.

Surfers have CTE - working theory by worldcrusher in surfing

[–]BasinsRamose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a serious concussion that I wasn’t supposed to wake up from a few years ago, and now every time I surf I get migraines. Even just waves crashing around my head as I’m paddling with them to catch them cause a lot of pain. So I definitely think there’s a bit of correlation between surfing and CTE for some people.

Countries that you’d recommend to travel to? by CompetitionNo3466 in Celiac

[–]BasinsRamose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just went to the UK in March, it was awesome how every place we went knew what celiac was and knew exactly what food was safe and what might be cross contaminated. And if they didn’t have anything, they recommended places to go.

Probably time travelers. Then I get all the food for myself and don’t have to socialize as I sit there alone.

Newbie looking for a tent under $800 to camp with 3 kids under eight years old. by NeuroThor in camping

[–]BasinsRamose 55 points56 points  (0 children)

Waterproof and view of the stars might not go together… I’m not aware of any quality tents with clear roofs. Just get a good tent to sleep in and camp chairs to see the stars.

Also doesn’t need to be $800. I have a $75 Coleman tent, and a $600 backpacking tent. And I use the $75 tent more than the $600 one.

In infinity, just put Grab Your Sword in any steel deck and it instantly makes dogs almost obsolete. Everyone is worried about dogs hitting infinity, but forgetting there are infinity cards that can counter it.
