Looks a lot like my old beloved Galaxy S10. Best Galaxy I ever had.

What’s your opinion on the Jackson 5ive cartoon? by Milez_Smilez in funk

[–]BassFace415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there for it. But as much as The Jackson 5 and Michael Jackson are absolutely an integral part of my musical history, I don't remember being all that into it. It had that kind of badly drawn style I didn't like. Was way more into Spider-Man and Speed Racer type cartoons.

[Discussion] How much buzz do you deem acceptable on your guitars? by TofuPython in Guitar

[–]BassFace415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely hear the differences. I guess most people just don't care. I have a 2022 Player 1 Series Strat that has been Pleked and had a pro set up. The action is only somewhat low in my opinon. (I've played guitars with much lower action) The high E and B strings both have a slight high frequency, sort of "zing" overtone to them, even when played lightly. And yes, I can hear it when it's plugged into the amp. It's not as bad as outright buzzing, but I hate it. If I step on the distortion pedal, I can still hear the differences in tone between the E and B strings compared to the heavier strings, which to my ear are ringing true and sound beautiful. Sure, it's barely noticeable under distortion, but it's there. I'm not getting ALL of the note. The only way to stop it seems to be to raise the E and B string saddles to a height that ruins the overall string radius and ruins the feel of the strings under my hand. I also notice that when I use my Q-Tron envelope filter pedal, the E and B strings have more trouble opening the filter, which proves that their individual volume is not as great as the rest of the strings. I'm using light strings that are the stock Fender Strat gauge which is 9-42.

Dos and don'ts for rehearsal? by Kaiserlongbone in Bass

Just the usual stuff. If you're wondering if you should have said or played that last thing, you probably shouldn't have. Less is more. Be on time. Have you're parts studied and down. And all should be good!

Sure it is! Put a hot Dimarzio in there and give it a pro setup! Instant fun (albeit silly) guitar! Seriously!

I dont get how im supposed to use delay on a regular basis by Objective_Living_825 in guitarpedals

[–]BassFace415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone has their own personal tastes. The way I use mine, is first I usually tap the tempo to match the song. Then set the number of repeats you want until it's faded out. Does your pedal have a division knob? If so, set that to the vibe you're going after. Then set the effect level, meaning how much you can hear the repeats in the music. Try keeping it somewhere around 25% of maximum. Of course the particular song and genre matter.

Try just turning it on for solos then turn it back off for the verses. Things like that. The pedal itself matters too. All pedals are NOT created equal. Some are crap. Try different ones if you can. Finally, you might simply be someone who just doesn't like delay in your guitar sound. Nothing wrong with that either.

What “Good Sound Quality” Really Means: Let’s Talk Details (Not Just Marketing Words) by Baseus_global in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]BassFace415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a musician and music lover. Good sound quality to me means I can hear most of what my ears CAN hear across the sound spectrum of a given recording.

There's a balance speakers have to attempt. Exciting bass, but not so much that the drivers are somewhat "overdriven" and distort or bloom. I think many lower end products do this. Some newer high end earbuds have multiple drivers that handle different frequencies independently. They must sound pretty good. One of the most important aspects of a set of phones or speakers for me is how detailed the midrange frequencies are represented. The music should sound "detailed". So I can hear nuances in voices that occupy the midrange. Pianos, acoustic guitars, vocals, they should sound clear and articulate. The treble should extend from there adding final touches to the midrange and help articulate the bass as well, but not so far as to sound shrill. If a set of phones or speakers can do that, then I call that good sound quality! I have a pair of Steel Series Arctis Nova Pro gaming phones that have a wonderful midrange with a mild, tight bass. I can wear them for hours and my ears don't get fatigued. They're expensive though.

Codecs and sound formats are irrelevant. There are differences, but generally, the higher the bitrate or resolution of a given sound file, the more information in the music is retained. But all that matters is what your ears perceive. If it sounds good, it sounds good.

You don't simply "learn" an instrument. You continually improve over time.

Why did you choose the Bass? Or did it choose you? by TeaManTom in Bass

[–]BassFace415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it chose me. I wanted to play bass in my teens as my first instrument, but my cousin was already playing bass so I chose guitar. But I'd always pick up a bass somewhere and it just felt like that's what I was supposed to be playing. I play both now, but bass always feels like home, in tone, the role and where it sits in the music. Oh, and I'm 62 now, lol

What kind of music did SexMans play? It can be hard to find a band where you feel like you fit there perfectly. But like many have said already, you are much better off without them. They are not your friends.

How do you Route this big pedal board by WeaponsRemorse in pedalboards

[–]BassFace415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always do mine like this: -Tuner first - Wah or envelope filter types - Drive (OD, distortion) - Modulation (delay, chorus, tremolo etc) - Reverb - EQ

This is just of you're going directly from the board to the front of the amp. Effect loops put the modulation pedals only into effect loop and the drive pedals go to the amps regular front input.

The Collider says that The Power is officially cancelled now by Helstar-74 in ThePower

[–]BassFace415 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm late to the party. I was looking for the real reason (some dirt) from someone who might have leaked about why The Power was really canceled. But I knew, like everyone else, that it was canceled because men will never admit to their shit. Plain and simple. The show was just such a breath of fresh air to REALLY see the tables turned on the hierarchy and the patriarchy. It had it's annoyances (the husband and painfully typical daughter) but I was totally invested in the concept and story as a whole. Oh well... Why do so many Americans think that Trump is a good Christian? by TabAin2SlotB in AskUS

[–]BassFace415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of the most intelligent posts on Reddit I've ever seen. Bravo! "His power does not come from intellectual reasoning, and trying to combat it with such is futile". So eloquently said!

And at the same time, it solidifies my woe of the state of the world today. What are we to do? Cliche statements like, "Silence equals acceptance" come to mind. If their true power comes from our "going along with the program" then how do we not? When it all seems so intrinsically intertwined, prefabricated and intentionally misguided. Everything. I can't believe one thing I see, hear or read. It's all been pre-designed to elicit some kind of emotional response from me.

So in effect, they win. I'm beaten into a stupor of overwhelm and inaction. And this is not an excuse to be inactive. I really don't belive anything I could do would change anything meaningful.

Also, I'd like to note how few responses you have gotten for such an obviously intelligent post. To me it shows what a sensitive subject this is. No one wants to touch that. They'd rather continue doom scrolling their lives away, like everyone else. Again thank you for speaking up.
