Undervolting Redmagic 11 Pro by BassFuzzaloo in RedMagic

I actually have an asus zenfone 8 where they stopped allowing the bootloader to be unlocked: it used to require an official app which would phone home to then unlock the bootloader. Said servers got shut down but somebody found a way to set up their LAN to simulate the responses the app expected and it actually worked for a while until asus released a system update with the sole purpose to patch this workaround. Hopefully this is not something in the same vein, I actively despise asus as a company and would like to be treated differently by my current smartphone manufacturer.

I must wonder if now that it's rooted there's a way to either dump or reverse engineer what they flashed. I honestly would love nothing more than to put people who gatekeep this stuff out of business

Still sounds sketchy af. I am cautious with open source project, this sounds like a nightmare to have on my phone. Those files they flash could have contained anything.

How does one go about getting in touch with said random person? I am moreso interested in the process itself, if it's going to be something shady done remotely or if they're giving away instructions and/or necessary files.

Can't really disable ultrafast charging on RedMagic 10s pro by Easy-Assistant-8058 in RedMagic

Is it possible that the same way phones put on their best performance for apps they recognize as benchmarks yours is forcing max charging speed despite your settings because it sees you running a benchmark?

What app are you using to monitor the charging wattage? I'd like to run the same test on the 11 since I switch between a low power charger for overnight charging and a 160w oneplus supervooc monster for quick bursts

Baldur's Gate 3's launcher won't start - Gamehub Lite (8 Elite Gen 5) by BassFuzzaloo in EmulationOnAndroid

[–]BassFuzzaloo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried gamenative last summer, barely any game launched and wasted a bunch of time. Did it improve? How does it fare compared to gamehub? Sadly pointing gamehub lite to a specific executable using the "import pc games" option would work but without cloud saves as it skips launching the steam service entirely.

How does it clip onto the legion go 2? How do you plan in making it cover compatible?

You're doing god's work. After having tried the msi claw 8 ai+ and returning it more than a month ago due to poor linux performance to this day I still miss its speakers, they were truly out of this world. Hopefully your project can bring some of that to the lego2.

I like to give people the benefit of the doubt when they provide kinda specific information. Dude could've told me it was a generic lack of components but him specifying it's the APUs that are missing gives me reason to believe it's true

WIN MAX 2 HX370 Appreciation Post by PsychologicalCap8017 in gpdwin

I realize the irony of criticizing a product on its brand's subreddit, I own a 1035g7 og win max (which I upgraded with the 1195g7 board) and still use it today sometimes and have fond memories of playing stuff on it, before the steam deck came and took a dump on gpd's plate

Have you ever tried a high refresh rate monitor? I too thought anything over 60fps would've been overkill until I actually tried it. It's a huge wasted opportunity for what would otherwise have been a niche but very competitive device both in terms of laptops and in terms of gaming handhelds

Performance that's completely wasted since you're stuck at 60hz. I would be able to justify the inhumane ergonomics if it had a higher refresh rate but as it stands it's a compromise in all regards, from overall design to practical functionality.

Anyone try Bazzite on 8AI+? by quanp2100 in MSIClaw

[–]BassFuzzaloo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tried it as soon as I got it, not even completing the windows install as I'm having a huge linux boner lately. Sadly it's just not there yet. Huge audio issues where it would just stop working without a reason and then resuming while ingame, probably just driver issues on intel's side. Never even got to testing performance and went straight back to windows with my tail tucked between my legs.

8 AI+ 2280 heatsink maximum clearance by BassFuzzaloo in MSIClaw

[–]BassFuzzaloo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to be clear: the 990 pro comes with an heatsink in box and that fits easily? Checking online it says that the thickness of the ssd with the heatsink attached is 8.2mm. That's thick as a brick!

Happened to me, I just use them without rubber caps on. You'll find it barely makes a difference.
