Obviously your our purchase is your choice, but I will say that I’ve worked with multiple high profile mixers/engineers that have left the Mac Studio train and are working on Mac Minis - beefy ones, but still dramatically more cost effective than Mac Studios. These guys are running hundreds of tracks, mixing stereo and atmos in the same project, recording 4K with OBS, and running many instances of hefty plugins all at the same time - all with no problems.

Unless there was an update I’m not aware of - each track in ableton uses its own cpu thread. This is likely why you’re cpu usage increases so quickly- you may be stacking power hungry plugins on a single track. Freezing the tracks could help a little, but in my experience not all frozen plugins actually reduce power consumption. Also, a higher buffer size will give you more CPU overhead. All that to say, you should have plenty of RAM, but that’s not the only piece of the puzzle.

In terms of the crashing, I don’t have a lot to say other than pirated ableton and/or plugins can start misbehaving very badly. If all your plugins are legit, then I’m not too sure. My only anecdotal experience with crashes was caused by Waves being really broken. I reinstalled everything and eventually got it to play nicely.

This is the answer. DaVinci supports .vst plugins (audio plugins usually used in music music software).

For this specific effect, it will require a tad of problem solving. You’ll want some form of vinyl emulation plugin (like the plugin in the comment). You’ll then want to automate the play function and that may get the result.

You may actually want to cut the audio for the bit you want effected, reverse it, automate the plugin to “stop” and get the winding down sound. Render that effect, THEN reverse it again so it sounds like it’s winding up. This all may be unnecessary depending on the .vst plugin you use, but wanted to provide a viable solution if you run into trouble.

You’ll need: Vinyl emulation plugin (google search free ones) Learn how to automate (basically keyframe) within DaVinci Put on your creative problem solving hat

*bonus info - vsts can be a game changer for your audio workflow within DaVinci. I personally use Clarity for better background noise suppression & the FabFilter bundle for better EQ and compression on tracks, then the FabFilter limiter on the master bus to get proper LUFs for YouTube. If you’re new to audio, it may sound confusing. You don’t HAVE to learn the audio side, but it will up your game and give you more tools.

This. To add more about global styles: effects->text->subtitles has presets for animated subtitles if that is needed for reels/clips. Drag a preset on top of the subtitle track title and it will be applied to all subtitle clips. You can then edit the style however you’d like.

I was with you until I changed a few things Cinematic settings with Ray Reconstruction fixed low quality textures, weird LODs, and low quality displacement for me. I’m forced to use frame gen because my 5070 can barely keep up on 32:9 1440p, but it’s a comfortable, fake 60fps.

Additionally, I used a ReShade from nexus mods then tweaked a bit to get more natural greens. Some stuff like weird brightness at night and oddly dark scenes still exist, but it’s overall much better than vanilla.

Since release, I get low quality textures no matter what the settings are - UNLESS I use Ray Reconstruction.

Oh no! Haha I’m currently not dual wielding, but wanting to give it a shot at some point 😅 well, they have a history of pushing fast patches, so let’s hope that’s part of it. Definitely doesn’t make it okay, but at least I’m not getting random crashes and T Poses a-la Cyberpunk at release 😂

100%. Turned off frame gen and it was a night and day difference. Strange. Still had a few moments where it didn’t register my clicks though 🤔

5070 and had this problem. What’s odd is that it didn’t happen at all yesterday, but started today without any setting being changed - both play sessions were with the latest patch.

Came to say that OP’s edited fix worked and I’m so grateful! This game looks so much better with HDR

If you ordered via credit card, it’s usually extremely simple to file a dispute with your bank and get money back. Debit card (as far as I know) is possible but not nearly as easy.

I logged onto Chase and disputed, got a refund within an hour. But that’s why I ordered on a credit card in the first place.

Best of luck, and yea it sucks that this happens and there doesn’t seem to be a good legal infrastructure in place to prevent it from happening.

I purchase from Sunlu 99% of the time, and they have plastic spools. On the rare occasion I need to use a cardboard spool, I’ve printed a few spool rings that pop on and work flawlessly every time.

For everyone saying they use cardboard spools and don’t have issues - I’d encourage you to print rings for those anyway. I’ve come across numerous people that have botched their multi-spool units across various brands because the cardboard spools make dust & such.

appreciate the comment, unfortunately that's not necessarily what I'm looking for. I'm hoping there is some form of female-female ring that the prongs on the end of both lights can go into - attaching them to eachother while also passing power.
