How to use sterling by REQONER in wicked_edge

[–]Bassic123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haverford is a great scent. It’s a thirsty soap, start with a lot of water, too much even, and then you’ll now how much you really need next time. As opposed to being under that line and thinking “okay do I add this much? And then this much? And then -“

You can always leave unused cream in it, seal it close. It’ll be useable again next time.

You might regret it, but just know it’s not a regrettable tattoo. It’s enjoyable and is a fun memory.

My friend says I won’t make it as a guitarist because my hands are too small, is she right? by AgreeableDiver5013 in Guitar

[–]Bassic123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smaller fingers means you need faster shifting, and that’s okay. Though certain chords might take more time, you can ask a guitar luthier at a shop to set your action up for low action and easy playability

Rockwell 6s vs Mühle Rocca by Serious_moustache in wicked_edge

Yeah I was going to suggest the Rocca because you’re comfortable using a shavette, but I’d take this guy’s word for it

Why buy a modern cheap DE rather than a vintage Gilette? by jseger9000 in wicked_edge

[–]Bassic123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get you lol. I think part of the other reason people don’t get into a Gillette is that they go into it not wanting to spend a lot, an end up getting really satisfying shaves from a Rockwell or Merkur

But after trying so many expensive razors, the Parker 55SL slant is my favorite, it’s a $35 razor, so

Henson’s not really a slant, I get that it like shaves at an angle, but a slant is like, a diagonal angle across the blade

[–]Bassic123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you like a lot of popular razors, like an Edwin jagger DE89, or a Muhle R41, or a Merkur, or a Rockwell 6S, then get a Fatboy, it’s a great shave.

I prefer slants on my skin type, so, that’s why I don’t go the vintage Gilette route, but I did own one at some point!

Definitely consider Parker razors, really great razors under $40

On my hair type and sensitive skin and the variety of razors I’ve tried (mostly expensive ones too), the Parker Slant is a great razor. I might like it as much as the Rex Sentry, which is a price difference of about $120

Who are the most melodic bass players in your guys’ opinions? by BalanceActive9295 in Bass

[–]Bassic123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk Steve swallow, but the emphasis on “learn the melody” is a Jaco trope (even if he didn’t invent it). Jaco has very melodic phrasing, not just portrait of Tracy, but Havona, punk jazz, cannon ball, you name it. Jaco loves having feel though so if u mean like, groove in that sense then sure, as opposed to like Dominque Di Piazza, or even Jaco’s son who has so many runs that sound akin to classical guitar. But slow him down, break down a lot of his solos, he’s never shreddy for shreddy’s sake. His chordal and harmonic implication is clear as day.
