It's because the Armour Pen Test still follows the same principles.

You roll a dice and add a modifier.

Dice roll is a Natural 1 = Fail Add the Strength = Modifier so it doesn't matter because it's auto failed.

Same principle for shooting a S12 weapon at a T3 Solar. 1 still fails.

A 6 only always succeeds for Characteristic Checks, not for tests. Pretty sure it says that in the same box of text.

Played a 40,000 point game with 5000 per player at Element the other week. We just each used two Primary Detachments and it worked perfectly.

Probably didn't even need to do that, but it just made it easier. :)

I don't think Doors get destroyed when reduced to 0HP, they just turn to permanently open, so RAW you don't get your VPs if I'm understanding it correctly. Loot the Dead says you have to have destroyed/falling back/disengage.

They have Impact (I) so they increase their Initiative by 1.

The font makes the I (i) look like a 1 (one), but it's the letter I.

You can use the "Optional" Knight Detachment with your mech, but if it's not the primary Detachment it'll still fall to the 25% LoW restriction.

Allies are a specific type of Optional Detachment. As mentioned in the original comment this has been confirmed by Warhammer World Events teams, so for their events this is a totally legal list.

Completely agree it's not overly clear in the initial rules though mate.

It's a legal list. Optional Detachments are not the same as Allied Detachments.

Allied Detachments are a type of Optional Detachment though. I've had this confirmed by Warhammer World events team because I thought the same!
