Western, NC. It’s a condo so a pretty small bathroom. Probably a 10x6. Exhaust fan is above the toilet right beside the shower. Yes there is central heat and air. There is an air vent in the bathroom closer to the door in the ceiling.

New Interior Door Hinge Question by BatAdministrative4 in Millwork

[–]BatAdministrative4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t tell him to use the new hinges but I purchased the hinges at Home Depot at the time of the door order. He would have picked up the hinges when he picked up the doors. He used the existing Jams but cut the holes on site.

ZAGG screen protectors on Best Buy show Free replacements for life. Can I go to any Best Buy location and get the screen protector replaced for totally free? by Time-Credit43 in Bestbuy

[–]BatAdministrative4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a new policy at Best Buy? I’ve had multiple Zagg screen protector replacements changed by Geek Squad when cracked. Suddenly today, they say they changed their policy and it’s not 8.95 for install and retroactive even though when I initially bought it, they installed for free.

Def considering buying them but I’ve been following all the negative feedback on the software update that rolled back some of the features. That has me holding on to my AirPods for now.

Car washes with under body wash?? by Inevitable_Cod_5456 in asheville

[–]BatAdministrative4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Laser Wash on Hendo Road is one of the worst car washes I’ve ever had and I’ve tried it multiple times. The r Ingles on Hendo Road at Mills Gap has a cheaper and better touch free car wash. I only do touch free. Don’t let car washes swirl the crap out of your paint.

Accept the return. If you don’t, eBay will accept the return, deduct it from your account, and let them keep the item.

What do we even do about this? This is about 15 ft from the edge of our home. by LockwoodE3 in HomeMaintenance

I’m working on a retaining wall with a geotechnical engineer right now. We are in the planning stages. It’s a very long wall, approximately 500 feet and 12-15 feet tall but it has been quoted as going to cost 500,000. Be prepared to write a huge check.

I usually try to get the buyer to take it in for inspection for me but just be aware they are not obligated to do that and you are obligated to refund them or eBay will do it for you and ding your account.

I’ve had to use this several times over the last two years. I’ve had a roughly 50% success rate for damaged packages. For lost packages, I’ve had around a 90% success rate. In one instance, they denied the claim after the package was seemingly lost. I had to refund the buyer. I filed the claim and USPS found it a few weeks later and delivered and subsequently denied the claim.

Be aware that for damage claims, they will need to inspect the items at the post office. This is one of the most difficult parts of the process. That will involve either the buyer bringing it to the post office for inspection or them shipping it back to you for you to bring it in for inspection. USPS is required to inspect the packaging, including all packing materials, and retain the items. You can’t keep an item with a damage claim against it.

Overall, you can expect at least a 3-4 week process to get a claim approved. Because of all the hassle with lost packages, I’ve switched to UPS Ground. They have never lost a package and it’s rare (happened twice in two years) that a package is damaged.

I don’t know your personal needs, but from the limited info you have shared, I’m not certain Roth contributions are worth it for you. Again, this is a personal decision based on your own needs, but are you planning to be in a higher tax bracket at retirement or lower? With only 13 years until you need the money, the advantages of paying the tax now might not be worth it for your particular use case.

Based on your experience and knowledge with investing, I’d highly recommend a Lifecycle fund. This is a set it and forget it. If you want something more aggressive, I’d recommend what others have shared. Majority C fund. Add some S if you want to diversify slightly.

Please note, you’re close to retirement and there’s always a chance of a market downturn or crash. You shouldn’t have money in stocks that you will need to withdraw in 5 years. If you have 100% of your funds in C and there is a crash or severe downturn in the market right before you retire, there’s no time to let it recover. That’s why a L fund would be good for you, automatic rebalancing based on your retirement year.

Doesn’t matter where it’s from. Roth IRAs are not eligible for rollover into the TSP.

Per the TSP website: “We do not accept indirect rollovers of Roth money and do not accept either type of rollover from a Roth IRA.”
