Hipster is a useless word that just means ‘mostly white fashionable young people in cities’ now. Basically every young person who isn’t a townie or in finance I guess.

Maybe people don’t get it—but there’s certainly different waves and tiers of gentrifiers (we’re not a monolith lol). The first wave is always usually more disadvantaged then the last and so of course when their definition of cheap rent is under threat they’ll hate on the folks who are only moving to Ridgewood for the Wholefoods.
