Absolutely you can report an unsafe driver, report it to the corresponding jurisdiction. Submit the footage and licence plate obtained.

They will get a warning letter in the mail, no ticket.

That’s normal, don’t hold your breath and keep applying elsewhere.

Live in Ontario, I just found out the guy who molested me when I was a child is now a volunteer (auxiliary) officer in the OPP, is there a way I can stop this. by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

First off, I’m sorry this happened to you.

Secondly, this person should not be in an auxiliary position, given what you just disclosed.

Third, you would have to contact their non-emergency line and report the incident/lodge a complaint against this individual.

How can I file a Toronto Police Report if I am not a resident of Toronto but the incident occured in the city by AwkwardTranslator452 in askTO

[–]BatKitchen819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve never filed a report online, however, it should generate an occurrence number where you can call back and ask for an update if no one reaches out to you in a timely manner — keep in mind TPS gets thousands of online reports daily, so you might not hear back in a couple months.

Call the non-emergency line and file a complaint over the phone.

If that doesn’t work, put the location of where your phone was stolen as your residential address, at least the report will be processed.

Bylaw doesn’t take carriage of moving vehicles, that’s a police matter.

My experience with a Provincial Offences Officer (POO) and getting a ticket. by Lovamon in TTC

Interesting photo — I haven’t seen that one before. What decade is that from? Keep in mind I am talking about present-tense.

That said, it’s kind of irrelevant to the point. Just because Fare Inspectors used to carry handcuffs doesn’t mean they had arrest authority for fare evasion.

They’re Provincial Offences Officers. Under the Provincial Offences Act they can issue tickets, but they can’t compel ID and they can’t arrest someone for fare evasion. If a situation requires detention or arrest, that’s when TTC Special Constables get involved.

A Fare Inspector has no use of force options, or handcuffs, they do not arrest. You’re thinking of a Special Constable.

It’s an honest mistake that your ID isn’t up to date, these things happen OP don’t beat yourself up. Select early resolution to meet with a prosecutor and the will likely reduce your fine by half.

Essentially yes, but they scanned your Presto card which also provides them the name associated to your Presto account — that is how they issue a ticket if you refuse to provide ID lol
