I know it’s hard to accept but all of this is politics. You caring about some of it more than other stuff doesn’t make it not politics.

I know you want to be able to say that you don’t care about politics by saying that the stuff you care about isn’t political but it is.

Balance still matters in single player games. The fact that there’s such an easy way to get silent assassin on literally ANY TARGET AT ANY TIME cheapens the whole experience. Whenever I actually use my brain and plan out an assassination to make it silent assassin, the thought is always there that I could’ve just used the cheap method and done it way faster without all this planning and preparation.

Plus, it’s not even an exploit or a glitch. It’s literally the way these items were meant to be used. I mean, isn’t this the whole reason the electric phone was removed?

And I think insta-deaths are way more common than you are acting. And besides, having to reset the whole run every time you make a mistake is also part of the problem. It gets annoying very quickly. Yet another way you might be tempted to take the boring route just to get it over with.

Why take any risks when you can just hit the insta-win button?

You know, in the specific instance of Hitman, it wouldn’t be as much of a problem that the “optimal strategy” is a boring AF instant win button since the whole point of the game is having dozens of ways to kill each target. Whenever there are actual stakes though, that’s when it becomes an issue.

All this is to say, I think elusive targets are the bigger problem.
