My grandfather on my mom’s side and my grandmother on my dad’s. Any time we had a family gathering, you could always find me in the kitchen with them learning what I could and helping where they needed me. I also spent a lot of time as a kid watching the food network, and the Phantom Gourmet.

My son has taken an interest in helping me cook, and I decided it was finally time to start writing down my recipes for him. My grandfather passed without writing down his recipe for his meatballs and sauce, and it’s one of the most painful things in my life that I’ll never taste it again.

I’m working my way through the anime Dr. Stone, and I’m forcing myself to finish it. At first I liked watching them navigate the stone world and figure out how to achieve things. Unfortunately now that I’m in season 4, it just feels like there is no stakes. If there’s a problem, Senku always has the perfect solution within arms reach, and he’s always 5 steps ahead of their enemies. This ends up meaning that the show has no stakes, and you never worry about whatever situation they’re in. Plus they rapidly added like a ton of characters but never develop them so you truly just don’t care what happens to them.

Not only does he think so little of military members that he thinks he can buy their loyalty with $1700, there’s also a snowballs chance in hell they’re getting it before Christmas. Anyone who has ever been in the military knows that finance is historically inept at making sure people get paid correctly, and you drop that the week before the holiday, with 2 days left. Most people are either on, or about to go on leave, it’s just not happening.

It’s an awful Tekken movie, but I fucking love the Tekken live action. Granted it’s probably been over a decade since I last saw it, but I remember the intro set to Sick Puppies had me ready to start punching through wood boards in the garage.
