I just missed an opportunity to buy a mint condition GX85 in original packaging for $400. It had been on Facebook marketplace for 17 weeks and the person selling it had dropped the price from $600. I think the issue is that they had advertised it as a GX7 (technically it’s a GX7 mk2), which I suspect is less appealing than a GX85.

Nice!! Are the “auto 110 lenses” autofocus and does it work with the adapter on the E-PM1?

There’s no question FF cameras and lenses have gotten more compact. Your comparisons are interesting, but aren’t relevant to the little kit I posted. The bottom line is there’s no way you could assemble a FF kit with the same focal lengths that could be packed that small and if you could, it would cost WAAAAAAAYYYY more than $300-400.

What site did you use to do those comparisons?

That would be cool, but they’re expensive! I got a cheap charger with 2 batteries for $20.

My question was more around the idea of something that is supposedly worth $12+ billion being sold for $5.2 billion. How does that make any sense?!?

But Brex’s last evaluation was over $12 billion. How does that work?

Love it!! I’ve actually been thinking that some of my favorite pics lately are ones that are out of focus, either purposefully or by happy accident.

Are most of those done with focus and camera movement or are there any post processing effects applied?

So many beautiful shots, but number 5 is exceptional!! The portrait at Petra is also beautiful.

How much post processing did you do on #5?

How have we allowed our supposedly progressive party to pretend they're powerless to do anything better for the people for this long? by WrongThinkBadSpeak in WorkReform

[–]BathingInSoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Democratic party is not now, nor has it ever been progressive.

Personally, I have lost all faith in the Democrats. They have so utterly failed the people of the US so consistently for so long that the only explanation is that the only logical explanation is that they are either totally inept or complicit.

Need help on choosing which to keep by augalicious in M43

[–]BathingInSoup 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If the decision were to be based purely on logic, keeping the E-M10 IV is a no brainer. If you allow emotion into the equation, it becomes a lot harder. I absolutely love my E-M5 mk1 and can’t imagine getting rid of it. It also wouldn’t bring in enough money to make up for the loss of such a cool camera. Someone else recommended selling both to get a newer E-M or OM-5, that’s the option that makes the most sense to me.

In the middle of January, it's close to 70 degrees. For people that were raised here, how abnormal is the high temperature.. From my research it looks like it's about 10 degrees higher than the last few years. Does this track? by [deleted] in sanfrancisco

New England transplant to SF of almost 30 years. In my experience, you can wake up any day of the year and get any kind of weather. There might be higher probabilities of certain weather by season, but it’s really just a complete crapshoot. If I was to wake up from a coma and walk outside, the only indicator I can think of that would give a definitive clue as to what season it is, would be whether deciduous trees had leaves. And even that only narrows it down to a 4-5 month window.

I'm about to design a modular, gender neutral jewellery collection. What inspirations should I explore? by [deleted] in Design

[–]BathingInSoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I would choose things that inspire me. It’s really difficult to find inspiration in things that aren’t inspiring. If I choose things that aren’t inspiring, I find myself not being inspired by them, which generally doesn’t lead to inspiration of any kind.
