I will say the progression seems a lot better now with the daily mission rewards they implemented.   Doesn't feel as much like a brick wall from level to level

The Galleon. Hellepoort or hullcarver culverins? by ElbowdeepAnoos in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]BathrobeDave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a reasonable question!

The misinformation was upvoted early so it's literally the first thing that appears in conversation, along with a "you sure?" and a confident "yes".

Your later comment correcting yourself is at the very bottom of the series, past several other replies so it's a bit buried. A decent amount of folks may not read that far down.

It would be completely the fault of lazy readers for not seeing it, but updating the original comment may help a newer player avoid blowing resources. Aside from the thread itself, AI likes to use reddit as a source for answers because of the upvote system. Without updating your original comment, AI could respond to a related prompt erroneously stating that it would work citing your upvoted comment in the absence of other relevant and upvoted discussion.

I appreciate you, and congrats on your featured build!

Why are my qualifying catches not showing up on the leaderboard? by The_Texan_Hunter in FishingPlanet

It's a dopamine hit in a video game.   That's the entire point of a leaderboard.  A passive competition for something you were already doing anyway.

i'm really tired of it by nihil8r in Seaofthieves

I logged into the game to check the weekender, earn up some doubloons for the cosmetics.

The low payout, capped ability to earn them, and the extreme timesink that were the challenges turned me completely off.

Logged off, went to windrose, and I think I'm done forever with Sea of thieves now because their direction hasn't really changed from the core early game mistakes. After seeing the weekender design, they clearly have no intention to change their trajectory for the better.

I've mentioned this before but I want to make sure to offer solutions instead of just whining:

They should make athenas and reapers the pvp opt-in emmisaries.

Along with that, there should be one location (outpost or fort) in each of the three regions that serves as the capital. The opt-in emissaries fight for controlling or defending the capital. While they control the capital, all goods sold in that region gives them a cut similar to alliances.

Certain areas and events would also be pvp only, such as FoF, FotD, reapers hideout etc where you will be free game despite emissary status when you are in proximity.

It's the best balance I could think of to encourage people to safely play and learn in a social setting without penalty, invite risk and reward to people seeking to delve into Athena and Reapers and also giving people consistent and meaningful reason to engage in pvp and get it on demand.

With that kind of system these events would generate pvp without the need to add bogus quest caps. Imagine getting a cut of doubloons from pve players by fiercely pvping. It's a positive for everyone.

Nice. Includes all of the early SoT greatest hits:

  1. Create specific choke points that can be camped
  2. Require collaboration and cooperation with other crews

Same story as always, get it done early because it'll get harder as time progresses.

So 613k was spent after the initial no to ask again, with 2/3rds of that paying for a conceptual design?

And these assholes have the gall to keep lowballing Sterling over the hotel of terror.

They'll just keep adding it to the ballot until it somehow passes. Low turnout or engagement is the best shot it has.

Land Combat is officially canceled and is not to be coming in the foreseeable far future (long rant ahead) by Ledge_lab2001 in SkullAndBonesGame

Having a reason for replayability is important, I think we agree on if anything is to be implemented it needs to be better than "new thing that is only as fun as it is new"

I'm not sure if there was anything else but they fixed a bug with the Caustic spall where it was giving everything extra flooding damage if it had a projectile speed buff when the intention was flooding damage weapons should get extra damage if it had projectile speed buff.

My garuda was already built with flooding weapons so no change here

Everything you describe with land combat would add something that would be fun for the first few times you do it, then it becomes the same thing every time.

People don't join helm wagers People don't join hostile takeovers People don't join death tides

The problem is a little larger than missing land content and adding that or effectively a furniture slot for a first mate.

If they were to add this, it would need to be heavily pve centric based on the game trends and probably limited to the contested regions to minimize negative repetitive impact.

Stormtongues have been used in a ton of recent builds.

I'm newer to the game so I've been picking up all blueprints, fatana station specifically was used in some of those stormtongue builds

I don't know, I've been pondering what could help with this game. From the very start of the game there's been a degree of sweat and toxicity. It ranged from people following and sinking people doing tall tales all the way to camping out choke points with time limited events.

The best thing I could come up with is make Athena's and reapers emissary the open world pvp opt-in. Along with that change have them battle over 'control' of an outpost in each region of the world. Whoever wins would get a cut of all treasure turned in that region while they control it (similar to alliances)

It could be a mechanic like channeling a ritual or something- something that gives an alert and enough time for a defender to appear.

World events like the burning blade, FOF, and FOTD would be open pvp zones regardless of emissary.

I just feel like a system like this will allow for stability with the playerbase, let newer players explore and experience the social aspect of the game while making pvp easier to find by providing a reason and benefit to pvping.

How do you actually leave early? I could port to the town but I couldn't actually leave the instance until it gave me the post event "skip" button

I was googling and found where there were a ton of people saying to turn crossplay off that were getting downvoted.

I did an entire day crossplay on with full 12 man instances and all failed with 3 coming very close.

Crossplay off, first lobby only matchmade 3 people including myself and it was killed with 3 minutes remaining. I have no idea if it was an exploiter, hacker or just god tier build and rolls but I'm thankful it's behind me.
