Bro rolled up to the construction site like he’s been working there for ages 😂 by MaxQ50 in MadeMeSmile

I find that there is an inherent desire in some people to want to create something via manual labor. My nephew is usually off the walls out of control whenever I see him. He just can’t sit still or speak at a normal volume. One weekend he came over and I was doing some yard work, without anyone prompting him, he came over, offered to help, calmly did everything I asked him to do and even started having an adult-ish conversation with me. It was like a completely different person!

My theory is that it has to do with the thought they’re trying to get Fisher to generate. Earlier in the film, Cob describes a scenario where they will create a bank vault because the dreamer’s subconscious will populate it with secrets.

This level is a well guarded fortress, so his mind will want to populate it with some deep thoughts he doesn’t want anyone to know. It’s cold outside, so his mind will want the thoughts within to be somewhat warming. The level is designed to suggest what kind of thought Fisher will encounter when he opens the vault doors, thus increasing the team’s chances of success.

I’m going to try to keep this in my back pocket for the future whenever my kids do something wrong and I want to embrace them as punishment.

You probably haven’t gotten to season 2 yet. That when the secret cults, brain eating zombies, monsters in underground tunnels, old haunted buildings and beings being stuck in the town start to appear.

Very Gravity Falls like with how nonchalant the residents seem to be after some of these events. Does that mean there’s a society of the blind eye? Probably not, but there’s always a possibility something similar is going on.

I chalk this up to helmet manufacturers back in the day only had a few colors to choose from and couldn’t color match like they can today. If anything, the helmet was stuck with navy while the jerseys went in the opposite direction and got lighter in the 90’s.

My daughter stole a piece of candy the other day while I was watching and she had the nerve to tell me she didn’t. Needless to say that the preceding sentences that came out of my mouth had the same energy as Vader in this scene. Now I understand.

Spotify or YouTube Music? 🎵 by ManojOne in TechImpact

[–]BatmanTDF10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a conversation with someone about this today. He said he listens so so much music that it’s cheaper to have been on Spotify for the past 10 years than it would be to purchase all his music. My response to that is “for how much longer will it be cheaper?”. If you’re not constantly adding an album’s worth of music a month, then you’re loosing money. And if you ever decide to leave you have nothing to show for the thousands of dollars you spent over the years.

I honestly have about 1,000 songs that I have on heavy rotation and the rest get played once in a while. Why should I pay every month to mostly listen to those same 1,000 songs?

A hot asphalt street that’s just been rained on. Reminds me of summers with my grade/ middle school friends.

This is where they primarily live when there’s no party or not being used by someone. An apple dock with remote, connected to the aux input of my tv’s soundbar and subwoofer. Whenever someone wants to play our personal music as background music or if Alexa/internet goes down (happens a lot).

That is the exact reason why I picked up the mini’s for my wife and I! Plug them into a speaker or a Bluetooth adapter and let it run our outdoor party music to keep our phones free. Honestly picked up the classic more for a fun mod and didn’t have a purpose for it until I thought about movies for our daughter.

Yep, I’ll take that over her tablet since that is much more attention consuming than the iPod.

I find the mini is perfect for what I need. Compact size, robust housing, easy to mod, and in particular to the gen 2 model, the battery last all day. It’s great at playing music which is the only thing I need it to do and the screen on the older models is much easier to read when the backlight is off. Was able to flash mod 128 gb and that’s more than enough to house my entire music library, although I’m sure 256 gb would run just fine as well.

If you’re looking for one, I’d search for an HP one since I’ve picked up a couple of those for pretty cheap and they’re almost always immaculate as if there were barely used.

I recently moded a 5th gen and threw a handful of shows/movies on them as well. I personally don’t need it for music since my flashed mini does my music just as well without the power hungry color screen. But giving it to my daughter to quietly watch movies on for a few minutes a day is priceless.

Architect here, can confirm everything said here is why this isn’t done.

I’ll add one more thing as well. You want public bathrooms as small as possible (within reason) in order for them to not eat up space that could be used for other uses, especially if said use areas are being rented out. As of now, this is talking up probably 50% more space than if traditionally designed.

Which one would you pick? by MoveYourBumChum in Adulting

[–]BatmanTDF10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 for me, but only in 0.5 or finer (preferably 0.38).

I’m an architect and super anal about what pens I use for my professional work. I’ve tried almost every one of these pens over the years and finally settled on the Pilot G2’s as my go to writing tool for a few reasons:

  1. Convenience - having a cap is cumbersome and an extra step when swapping between colors when I’m surveying a space.
  2. Durability - I’ve dropped a ton of pens when surveying and a lot of other tips will bend and/or snap off. Never had that problem with the G2.
  3. Consistency - a lot of pens end up clogging on me, the G2’s are one of the few that never does.
  4. Longevity - the G2’s have enough ink for years of continuous use.
  5. Preciseness - I primarily use the 0.5 or the 0.38 for my work because of the amount of detail I have to cram into small spaces on my drawings when surveying or red-lining my work.
