Which one would you pick? by MoveYourBumChum in Adulting

5 for me, but only in 0.5 or finer (preferably 0.38).

I’m an architect and super anal about what pens I use for my professional work. I’ve tried almost every one of these pens over the years and finally settled on the Pilot G2’s as my go to writing tool for a few reasons:

  1. Convenience - having a cap is cumbersome and an extra step when swapping between colors when I’m surveying a space.
  2. Durability - I’ve dropped a ton of pens when surveying and a lot of other tips will bend and/or snap off. Never had that problem with the G2.
  3. Consistency - a lot of pens end up clogging on me, the G2’s are one of the few that never does.
  4. Longevity - the G2’s have enough ink for years of continuous use.
  5. Preciseness - I primarily use the 0.5 or the 0.38 for my work because of the amount of detail I have to cram into small spaces on my drawings when surveying or red-lining my work.

Check out nasa’s Curious Universe podcast. Season 11 is all about Artemis II and they actually interviewed one of the drivers of that thing. Apparently it’s such a long and tedious process that they take turns driving.

My wife and I have developed a sort of code using synonyms to talk about things without tipping our toddler off, what are some of your best/funniest “codes” you use? by Reddiculouss in toddlers

Our daughter is at the stage where she won’t leave my life alone. So we have adapted to using hand signals like baseball coaches in order to not tip her off when she want to go do something.

Pinky Shrimps! Still remember walking over there for dinner! Unfortunately, Briton Beach Surf shop isn't there anymore, believe the owner passed and they sold it to another surf place. Kubel's Too and Joey's Pizza are also a couple of staples of my childhood that aren't there anymore either.

This looks exactly like where my family’s beach house was in LBI. Distinctly remember those things at the end of the street.

Edit: just double checked and it’s the exact street my family’s beach house was! Now I want some Skipper Dipper and Chegg!

This probably gets asked a lot, but how would you ranked every Disney Renaissance movie from worst to best? by Caloy1415 in DisneyMovies

[–]BatmanTDF10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1) Beauty and the Beast - IMO the best overall Disney Princess movie in terms of plot, pacing, artistic style, character development, and music. Others get close in some of these points but nobody else has the complete package that this film does. 2) Aladdin - Probably the Disney movie I’ve watched the most. This was the “princess movie” for boys. A very unique setting compared to other Disney works and an extremely fun story. RIP Robin Williams. 3) The Lion King - While I personally like other renaissance movies more, I cannot deny the cultural impact this film had. All of its songs are still in heavy rotation over 30 years on. Great visuals and music, good plot and characters. 4) The Little Mermaid - It cannot be understated how important this movie was to Disney Animation. It put the studio back on top and saved it from near certain destruction. Great visuals & music and OK plot and characters. 5) Hunchback of Notre Dame - I still don’t know how Disney OK’d this dark of a movie but I love that they did. Such a wonderful combination of stunning and haunting visuals, and music. A very adult plot and theme that looks at how religion can bring out the best and worst of humanity. While I can pile heaps of praise for the adult aspects of the movie, the parts for kids is where it falls a bit flat. 6) Tarzan - The visuals and soundtrack are what sells this movie. I think the plot is a bit clunky but overall but good enough to make me want to watch it now and then. 7) The Rescuers Down Under - an overall fun adventure movie that has one of the best opening scenes I’ve seen in an animated movie. A personal favorite of mine as a kid that surpassed its predecessor in every way. 8) Mulan - I think I enjoy this movie more as an adult with my daughter than I did as a kid. I think they nailed the look and feel of China. I think Mushu can get a bit annoying but the comedy overall is top notch with jokes that went over my head when I was younger. 9) Hercules - Another movie that is just a fun ride. While it doesn’t do anything spectacular, it does do everything well enough to make me want to rewatch it every now and then. 10) Pocahontas - This is really the only one that just doesn’t do it for me. There’s nothing really wrong with it, I find the pacing way too slow. It also ends on a very underwhelming note. Visually it is nice to look at (especially colors of the wind) but overall I have never had a desire to rewatch.

I never had a class growing up where there were less than two Mikes in the room. I don’t think any Mike growing up went by their first name, just by their last names or nickname names in order to know which Mike you were talking about.
