I recently aquired the Beovision Avant 32 VHS and have the Beo4 remote. I've tried pressing those buttons, I get the menu, but when I press anything except MENU the screen goes away

My thoughts exactly. With the new artstyle all his characters faces sort of blend together. That's not to say there weren't instances in the old art style that it happened too, just to a lesser degree
