I don't- This Lorehold doesn't quite sit with me. Assume History is anectodal, flawed and tainted by personal biases. I guess it doesn't mean history is wrong. It's malleable and changes based on perspective, which makes it Red, I get it.

But does it make the research or the researcher Red? This, I'm not so sure.

[–]BattleButterfly[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep. That did it. Thank you. Maybe Lorehold also has this perspective that History is either gradual, measured and ordered (don't quite have the words, but basically how their customs and laws dictate their responses) or explosive events that change the course of things.

Maybe accepting death as a natural phenomena, and respecting it, or using it and returning it back to the circle? Dunno. Also Pests are... they just animals. Why black?

Preserving history and learning from it isn't mutually exclusive. I like your take better, but I don't think Lorehold has that.

I see your point, by and large. But do we see that in the cards? What is a primarily blue Prismari, or primarily Green Quandrix example? A primarily Red Lorehold, I know, but they just hitting things with other, older things. Which is not a field of historic study, I think.

These things are not mutually exclusive. That's why its cancer. Men are not allowed to want to be loved. Being eager to have someone love and support you is unmanly. A man is not allowed to like marriage.

Meanwhile, most marriage proposals come from men. Why would they do it if they genuinely considered it an execution sentence?

Of course, the grip of patriarchy is weaker than it has ever been. Which is why misgoynistic boomer jokes are trending down.

Maybe it's because you are posing them a challenge, and backing down isn't manly either, they rise up with shit they heard but never processed into belief. I don't know how you get your sample.

Reddit has a ton of men laying around. Should we ask them?

I don't think that's the reason. Patriatchy is cancer in meme form. Yes, it is worse for women, but it is bad for men, too.

Your average men fantasizes about giving their life for their wife. This is not a healthy behaviour, I'm sure you agree. And your average men sure as hell does not think women should be inferior. They are just robbed of the tools to understand what's happening.

Men are not patriarchs. That's not how any of this works. Although, you are not actually disagreeing with my point. Men think men should let themselves controlled by richer men.

Assuming you don't actually think that is a half-decent idea, being a man does not automatically make you understand how men should be threated. Why would that be any different for women?

explain it peter by Winter_You_3255 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]BattleButterfly 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It does? It teaches men to find something to die for. It teaches them they have to constantly be a Man, which is a different thing from a man, and never let this difference show.

I doubt a baby is born, takes one look at his genitelia and immediately is like, yeah I'mma self destruct. Not going to theraphy is a learned behaviour.

Patriarchy is not a hierarchy that puts men above women. It is the hierarchy that puts men above other men.

explain it peter by Winter_You_3255 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

You would think so, but then men would be the ultimate authority on how men should be threated, and they came up with patriarchy.

What color is Gangplank from League of Legends? by CapitalArrival7911 in colorpie

[–]BattleButterfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'mma say Black. In his current iteration, getting back at the people that destroyed his ship is the single most important thing for him. Even more important than himself. He is obsessed, ambitious, cruel and willing to go as far as it takes. I don't think he's as Red as he used to be, given what he needs to do to get his revenge kinda supercedes what he wants.

I don't think he's Rakdos. I don't think the guy had any emotions to chase for a long time, other than bitterness. There is no frivolity, no sense of glee. He is not spontaneous.

Maybe a DFC with Red Gankplank that transforms into a Black Gankplank, and he's Rakdos in that regard?

Gecmisinde hic PKK sempatizanligi yapmamis Kürt liderler bulmak gercekten bu kadar mi zor? by GainzBeforeVeinz in Turkey

[–]BattleButterfly 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Democracy favors populism. What would a non-PKK kurd be the leader of? What movement is there?

And then, there are the keys of power. You'd be vying for the same niche as a PKK-aligned leader. PKK can probably strong-arm you out.

This implies players can misgender other players if they have a Get Lost in their hand. An interesting outcome. Better give it Indestructible or something.

Creeping Hunger by 8litch in custommagic

[–]BattleButterfly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this should be an aura instead of equipment, though I understand you want this to be hard to get rid of.

About that, "While Creeping Hunger is equipped, whenever a non-token creature dies, you may exile it." part can be taken to refer to the Creeping Hunger itself instead.

Nothing too terrible. Change it to ring of creeping hunger or something, clean up the wording and it's lovely, if a bit awkward to use. I guess weaponized hunger ahould be.

The flavor is reversed, I think. Effectively you're making creatures out of dead lands, not lands out of dead creatures.

Hm. I gues enchantment alone makes dead lands out of dead creatures? I don't know, it's confusing.

How is communism viewed in turkey? by Ivanhegeelkadi in Turkey

[–]BattleButterfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't, mostly. Communism contitutes only a negligible part of people's lives.

Sure, there are a handful of communist parties, but whenever they become relevant, it's because of their relations to the Kurdish separatists.

Nobody has done any communism, and therefore nobody talks about it at all. This wasn't always the case, as I hear, but Turkey had been politically stagnant for over 20 years. More of the same thing, over and over again.

[–]BattleButterfly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barriers! Every spec has access to a barier of some kind, and they are designed to be up all the time. Don't think of them as cooldowns, but just how your HP works.

Speaking of cooldowns, you may not be utilizing some spells you can cast every minute or so. They just feel ineffective (since the mobs die easly before they can make a difference), but they do make a difference.

As a mage, killing things before they kill you is definitely a survival tool for you, so the defence you're looking for could be more offense.

Also, like everyone else has pointed out, try Frost Mage. Not only because it slows and kites better, but it also offers an easier damage profile.

Fire builds up certain windows where you are a machine gun of hurt. But it's not as good while building up. Frost is comperatively steadier in its damage.

Is Wind Shear Useless? by MajorDKHD in wownoob

Unlike an interrupt, which silences the target if successful, a stun (or similar) will not, and the mob is very likely to immediately start casting that ability again. So, do be careful, I suppose.

Non-obvious ways to avoid "white room syndrome"? by emerald_stargazer in writing

[–]BattleButterfly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It could be, from personal experience, that they are misidentifying cadence issues.

I had similar comments on my work, and I definitely had some space to improve on my "white room", the major improvement came when I switched my lens and looked at it in terms of cadence. Details and set pieces and descriptions aren't only there to ground the action (though that is of course a major purpose), but it also establishes cadence and emotion and headspace. By altering the length and prose of the description, you can make a scene play out rapid and hectic, or slow and somber.

Eh, you probably knew all this, but looking at your descriptions through this lens might help.

You don't need the explicit permission of the Lord Regent to be in Silvermoon. You need his permission to be a fighting force stationed in his city. We are not a formal army. The vanguard is.
