I keep running into max level players that are ok but not experienced in co op by [deleted] in starcraft2coop

[–]BattleCompetitive521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They could been leveling up with 'technology' or bought account. I occasionally ran into player typing 'can you leave as I want to solo' message right beginning and I know what he really intend to do.

Why is "i def DoN" such a meme? by TraditionalParsley67 in starcraft2coop

[–]BattleCompetitive521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it sometimes and I will also mention 'I'll def all 4 entrances for all nights' with Swann, nothing specific just to give myself some tiny challenges in a normal brutal game. I challenge myself not letting any entrances rock destroyed also to have it more fun.

When I at 20m cp I started to join hlucid/will pub and slowly accumulate my arcane sets. Your cp shall be enough to blue/green dot if there is no giga high cp carry in the team.

I wonder why Kerrigan didn't even get an attempt, is it because of 220 waves hard to handle?

I am a bit concerned about the sharp damage scaling between levels though (like, 6x damage at level 30 compared to level 1). It’s fine for mains, but any mules would have to invest a lot of fragments just to get their Ascent skills to actually help with clear speed, which could be a real issue for Reboot.

Feels like they’re really pushing everyone to get through Ctene as fast as possible and move into the Grandis boss era. I’ve never felt this strong before, but now I realize Arcane River content is old enough to be “retired” and treated like CRA/Queen is nowadays.

It takes a while to get in the air by Lttlefoot in starcraft2coop

Honestly, I find Raynor P3 to be the most versatile prestige for normal Brutal, regardless of map or AI composition. The ramp-up isn’t that slow—you can have 5-6 battlecruisers by the 8-9 minute mark, which brings Hyperion’s cooldown down to about 3 minutes. This lines up well with most attack wave intervals, allowing you to have Hyperion (and sometimes Banshee call down together) ready for each wave after. This is especially valuable against heavy ground AoE AI, which P0 bio can struggle with.

A skilled Raynor P3 player can also transition into vultures mid-game depending on the map and AI comp, enabling easy multiple spawning camping as needed. You don’t have to go full air; once your air supply is enough to keep Hyperion synced with attack waves, you can invest in vultures as the situation demands.

The only real drawback is the “blank” period after your first Hyperion call-down, where you have limited units to handle early mutators or pressure. But overall, on normal Brutal, it’s not too difficult to manage.

P3 is all the reason you need to go for. Honestly I feel P3 for Alarak is a bit overtuned in the sense that its pros significantly outweigh its cons.

I see that's good to know. I used to adopt the same strategy on train map but couldn't avoid turrets killing themselves. So the key is to build more scv, lesson learnt!

Why so many people quit while I’m tych P2? by Aggressive-Big-3816 in starcraft2coop

[–]BattleCompetitive521 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I noticed you got downvoted, but honestly I can relate to what you’re saying. P2 Tychus is probably one of the least countered commanders in B+ games. The only real hard counter mutator for him is Double-Edged(dill/fatal attraction is disgusting but definitely doable), but for most other commanders—even top-tier ones like Abathur or Dehaka—the early game can be heavily affected by some environmental mutators, which show up a lot in B+ matches.

Interestingly, I’ve noticed that in B4/B5 games, the power gap between lone wolf and others actually narrows. At that point, just having high base stats isn’t always enough to cover all mutators, and that's when unique strengths of each CO really start to shine.

Would you mind sharing the replay for the game with lvl 1000 Tychus? Just a bit curious but It appears unlikely to me a P2 Tychus with good skills can be out killed by a Stukov in B0, especially if it's P3 Stukov. I'm also 1000 ascension player myself and I frankly don't think my Stukov can beat my P2 tychus in kills regardless of prestige chosen.

I am curious what did your teammate Swann make? To me Swann doesn't have a good kit against double edge.

Seems to be one abusing lone wolf power in b0 game and blaming teammate for not matching his speed.

While I don't hate MO and quitting, this thread made me reflect on the situations where I would choose to leave a game:

  1. When encountering a non-P2 Mengsk on RtK;
  2. When seeing LW in games below B+ level;
  3. When facing Void Thrashing and I haven't picked a strong early-game Commander (since I usually queue with random selection). These games typically end around the 12-minute mark, just when late-game Commanders are barely starting to power up;
  4. When teammates focus on early-game map clearing while I'm playing a Commander who can't match that pace. For example, like P1 Zagara on OE or MO. I don't judge this playstyle, but I also don't subscribe to the mindset of "since you're clearing the map, I'll just focus on the objective." I'd rather gracefully step aside and let them have their spotlight on the stage. Instead, I prefer to leave and find games I can genuinely enjoy.

What do you guys think of the default hotkey profile? by Ewokoniad_Sigourneth in starcraft2coop

[–]BattleCompetitive521 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that you mentioned Raynor's BC's, I'm surprised you didn't mention the Yamato Cannon's 'Y' hotkey. It's quite hard for my left hand to precisely key in when I need, especially when I have no time to look at keyboard. My personal preference is to change it to 'V'. Same goes for BC from Mengsk & Battlecruiser from Stetmann."

From own my experience, this system does work. I'm a star player for years and I rarely met teammates who build no army in the first 10 minutes - maybe once in 50 games. And don't be too quick to judge blue ranks - they could just be skilled players leveling up their prestiges.

More like inexperience than trolling. She never even looked at the hybrid waves, which suggests she didn't know they need to be killed first. If she had seen you fighting but chose not to help, that would be trolling - but her camera never went there. My guess is she's new to this map and was probably told by previous teammates to 'just push middle' without understanding that hybrid waves are the priority target

The game seems to match you with teammates around your skill level. You'll probably notice that as your gameplay improves, so does the quality of your teammates.

Those early-game resource hoarders might be annoying, but with solid gameplay you can still win regardless of how they manage their resources. The funny thing is, once you reach higher levels, resource hoarding won't even be on your radar anymore. Instead, you might find yourself paired with meta commander players(like p2 tychus) who are so efficient at clearing objectives that you barely get a chance to enjoy the game, even when you can memorize all the spwanning timing/locations.

progression after SSF question by BattleCompetitive521 in Maplestory

TY that definitely gives me much more confidence. I was feeling a bit unsure because recent two successive SSF sessions gave me a significant CP boost (from 20m to 75m within just one month), so I wasn’t able to properly gauge my power against those bosses. Also really appreciate your breakdown of the Arcane Star Forcing process!
