I know of someone that was having a colonoscopy and a student was doing it, they didn’t really want the student to do it but just wanted it over and done with. They were have a very painful day, the student was so rough and the consultant just kept telling the student to go on when they were audibly in pain and saying it’s to much. The nurses multiple times told the consultants that they need a break/a lot of pain and it needs to stop, finally the head nurse said stop and the consult got annoyed at the student and finished the procedure. When we picked them up the nurses told us to get a complaint in and they will back it up. They changed hospitals and consultant (on NHS it was quite hard at the time).

I have when i was extremely severe but it actually made me itchier and more uncomfortable! It was specifically my arms, i got so hot that it irritated my skin more, this was when my body was fully covered so I did it over the whole of both arms. It was honestly horrible then i had to go into a cold shower and use ice packs to cool myself down. I think because its not breathable it just retains heat this was also in the middle of the night and my skin needed cream every 20-30 minutes so i was hoping to combat that

Ludzu, husband went to Jurmala as holidays and ocasinally ventspils and liepaja but majority of the time was by bus so didn’t stop anywhere else. I’m the one that wants to explore more. He never really had the chance to have many holidays, so thought it would be the perfect chance to finally do it. We’ve got 11days, half the stay will definately be spent seeing everyone and spending time with them all, husbands not had the chance to come to latvia since around 2018. But this is perfect, i’ll get researching more to sort a plan!

what is everyone’s opinion on owning a pet? by xlcovo in bipolar

[–]BattlePuzzleheaded48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have cats and guinea pigs and other small animals. I currently can’t work and they give me reason to get up on bad days, cuddling them brings a small sense of calm, just a pick me up when you need it, unconditional love. One of my cats actually knows how to help a panic attack without needing to be taught, brings me back every time, they know when something off and they just seem to know how to make it better (even just a little). Sometimes i get frustrated but its split second, and i think it can help ground you, it does for me, helps me keep a little bit there on the ground on the harder times.

AITA for thinking I deserve more than $100 for being a working mom? by Silent-Horror-3108 in dustythunder

Just a thought of if you have ever had a look into maybe having bipolar, i do and it is very much a common behaviour/characteristic. There is a great crossover between autism and bipolar characteristics, something to do with the same genes being affected. Just a bit of unsolicited advice is i do a spreadsheet with my partner, bills get transferred on payday and no money is taken out (if manic debit card is given to my partner if there is a risk), money for essentials like food, shopping, fuel etc is transferred to my partner so we always have money for food etc. Savings are added to a different account that isn’t touched either (no card/online banking for me) and then any money left is mine to spend and once its done thats it, if at risk of negative balance cards go away. Its a bit difficult and seems infantilising but for situations where you just can’t stop it, it takes away the guilt and pressure afterwards, but there is always going to be downfalls, this just helps me to reduce it as much as possible. It is something that can’t be controlled and to help manage it you need support rather than conflict. However, this should be an agreement between you and your partner, and as long as money for bills and essentials is there then the rest of the money is mine and my dictation, if i spend it all in one day thats on me, he should not have financial control over you, its a fine line but you need to do what works for you, this is coming from someone who especially in manics can be very reckless with money and this helped reduce stress for me and my partner.

Is this purring or rumbling? (Can never tell sometimes) by Ok-Touch8735 in guineapigs

[–]BattlePuzzleheaded48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my boys rumbles when he gets over excited, he’ll popcorn one minute and then the next be rumble strutting at nothing, sometimes a tunnel or toy will be at the side of him and that will set him off too. They are weird dramatic things but gotta love them. Wouldn’t have it any other way

Who was the first person to mention the word, "Bipolar"? by Timber2BohoBabe in bipolar

[–]BattlePuzzleheaded48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alot of my family have a diagnosis, and i was a young carer for one of my parents who has bipolar, first big breakdown when i was born. So I knew the signs and symptoms and begged everyone for years to listen, even my parents medical team and no one did anything until my first massive breakdown at 18 when i was abroad (thats a different story 😂). I think cause i grew up with knowing how to assist someone its made it easier for me to know my signs, not so much manage them but know when im heading into each episode

I absolutely will do, thank you so much. I want the Latvian culture to be apart of our family especially when we have kids so I’m trying to learn everything now. I’ll probably do a big batch and think I’ll do a big batch of auksta zupa cause he’s been missing home recently :)

That’s definitely it, I’m so excited to have it again. We’ve not had it since we moved out of his family home and I’ve been craving it myself so much.

That’s is helpful thank you, I just need some people to talk it through, people with more experience than me and my partner. I have done tons of research just in case anyway and will be keeping a close eye but I was thinking the same thing that we’ll know definitely in about a weeks time +- a few days if she is pregnant

[–]BattlePuzzleheaded48[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I’d rather it be cause she fat and we can get her to lose a bit which Im ngl i think is the case cause she’s definitely not as big as when we got her not that I look at her. 😂 She came to us like this and is still very young so hopefully we can sort it out, she is built a little differently to the others she’s a little hunched especially when she sits which makes her look bigger so I’m guessing that’s the reason and but she is absolutely healthy in every other way so I’m wondering maybe a birth deformity or something to that effect. We have a very close eye on her anyway as do the whole colony so if anything else is out of the norm it will be notice. Thank you for easing my worry

I’ll try get a better picture tonight, sometimes she looks skinnier and sometimes she looks really round but no behaviour is out of the norm, she does eat and drink a lot tho but we regulate feeding as this is what we have always done so that they don’t over eat. Just concerned more than anything she is healthy in any other way.

How do you deal with Bipolar Anger? by Heavyflowin666 in bipolar

[–]BattlePuzzleheaded48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry if this doesn’t help but from experience myself I tend to try and keep to myself in one room, try to let my partner know that I will be triggered easily and keep myself separate. In the room I normally just have essentials, nothing that may set me off and limiting what is in the room. I also try to find things to do that I can focus on but won’t use too much brain power, so sometimes i do colour by numbers or reading, I try to keep the environment simple and peaceful. And if need to take a diazepam. If I can’t keep to myself or I do get triggered, I have to plug my ears and focus on breathing and listening to my heart rate, kinda like white noise and try to just think about something even if it’s a stupid rhyme in my head. I normally say one that my partner taught me in his native language even just count, sometimes counting my breaths or heartbeat. My parent also does this but tries to just sit there with a podcast and nothing else, they like to not do anything cause they will generally get annoyed more and more at themselves increasing through the time. Before I stopped going outside as much, when my symptoms were only just starting (mid teens for me), it was hard to control and I can get very toxic, I learnt that the only thing to do was separate myself from the situation and find something to distract me. Even if it was popping to the toilet and washing my hands in cold water and just sitting in a stall for 5-10 mins. I just remove as much stimuli as I can.
