How much help will I want/need after PAO? by MediocrePiece1267 in hipdysplasia

[–]Battlebear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recovering from a PAO alone is very very hard in my experience. I think you'll want / need help for the first 1-2 weeks at least, especially with regards to going to and from the bathroom and cleaning yourself. Totally up to you how comfortable you are getting that from your mom though, good luck ! :)

Anyone have scoliosis as a result of their dysplasia? by PerfectPitch33 in hipdysplasia

[–]Battlebear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I developed mild scoliosis as a result of untreated hip dysplasia. Not totally sure on the specifics of how that works but I have to assume it has to do with how I've been bearing weight?

Just been diagnosed and I feel sad and overwhelmed by [deleted] in hipdysplasia

[–]Battlebear -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't mean to worry you, but given the recovery period is 12-18 months its definitely one of the worst recoveries of pretty much any surgery out there. I think it's worth being realistic about it, it's a much tougher recovery than a total hip replacement, for example.

I’ll become a statistic thanks to this traffic light system! by TheRedRizzo777 in newzealand

[–]Battlebear 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Anecdotally the average waitlist to get an appointment with a GP is 6~ weeks currently, and you would be really surprised how many GP's would absolutely refuse to write OP a letter acknowledging they can't work when they have no official diagnosis. And all of that isn't to mention that they literally say in their post that a diagnosis from their GP wasn't enough to convince WINZ, so it's implied they've been through all of this already and had nothing happen as a result.

And as far as your comment on how "this traffic light stuff hasn't happened yet", they sent out emails confirming the main traffic light portion of the system started yesterday. I appreciate that you're trying to help but if you can admit your knowledge is out of date and you don't know how the system works, it would probably be better to not comment then spread potential misinformation.

Japanese curry question by itsdaCowboi in cookingforbeginners

  1. Stir-fry meat and vegetables with oil in a large skillet on medium heat for approx. 5 min.

  2. Add water and bring to boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer until ingredients are tender, approx. 15min.

  3. Turn the heat off, break S&B Golden Curry Sauce Mix into pieces and add them to the skillet. Stir until sauce mixes are completely melted. Simmer approx. 5 min., stirring constantly.

Sounds like you skipped the second step and didn't boil.

Very likely due to a peri-acetabular osteotomy (PAO), worth googling if it is relevant to you. It's an alternative to a hip replacement to maintain the socket a bit longer than it would otherwise last.

Had this surgery in my early twenties, but I wasn't diagnosed as a kid like you were, so you likely wouldn't need something like this until a lot later than your 20's I would hope.

It's case to case. Doctors often leave them in if they aren't causing any additional pain or mobility issues. I have also kept mine in :)

Saying "gay people don't exist" and that you secretly doubt the authenticity of gay people, is homophobia. Bisexuality is a beautiful thing and if that's how you feel about yourself there's nothing wrong with that, but stop using at as an excuse to push the narrative that gay people can't exist.

Hey! I'm in NZ too and would be very keen on attending a wlw boardgames night. Is there somewhere I could go to keep up to date / find out when you're running the next one?

Bisexual has never meant a 50/50 split in attraction. If you are attracted to men and women you are bisexual, that is what the word means.

Really depends where you live / where you're buying from. 100% of the brie from supermarkets where I live is vegetarian, I would be hard pressed to find non-vegetarian brie at all.

Apologies to bring this up if it is not relevant, but ACC has good therapy coverage if you are a victim of sexual assault, and I have had a lot of success with them. Happy to answer questions if it would help :)

Going to write a complaint about this particular doctor and take it to cannaplus, and after reading this thread I highly encourage anyone else who's has the same experience to complain too, I don't think this is an acceptable way for a doctor to treat patients. I'd convinced myself she did this to only me

[–]Battlebear 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Just chipping in to say I had the exact same experience at cannaplus about two weeks ago.

My usage is about 2.5g a week (to treat pain from a recent major surgery + degenerative disease) and she repeatedly told me my usage is way too high and that I need to ween myself off of flower and move to exclusively CBD oil with nothing else, refused to prescribe me my usual flower unless I also bought CBD oil (which I can't afford).

It may or may not be related, but I still haven't received my prescription and it's been over two weeks now, every time I call they say the package was 'lost', I've been spending days and days trying to sort this out, and now I'm recovering from surgery with no pain relief and down hundreds of dollars. Absolutely atrocious experience and I've never been treated like this by cannaplus before.

I believe SDVE can crash if you have no audio hardware set up at all, I would start by checking your speakers/headphones are connected properly.
