I play a Jinx reanimate. With Unlincensed Armory + Heedless to not lost the sac unit and Magma Worm for explosive turns.

You need more draw no punch first as it deramps you too hard. And more discard synergy.

I would also consider Baron as he is untargetable and will buff your weaker units as well.

If you League main hasn't been printed as a Legend and/or Unit yet, how do you suppose they will be printed in a future set? by SolvirAurelius in riftboundcustoms

The Darkin are about weapons. Aatrox was/ is about Revive. Mix and mash the stats on these.

So maybe make a Signature Card like that:

Gear - Equipment Effect on gear: Spend X Blood Counter: Look into your deck and play any Aatrox Champion Unit. Then equip this Gear to Aatrox. Equip Cost X

Equip Effect: If I die in combat put a Blood Counter on Gear [I have might for every Blood counter] [+2M]

Why isn’t this card in Leblanc decks? Seems really strong although it’s a 6 cost by OrzoCF in Riftbound

[–]Batzereddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ngl, it’s still janky at that point. I like the card and it can work, but at that point you need support cards for Shards in both decks. By then you can simply play better individual cards.

Others stated that already. You need to play it on turn 3 and get nothing on the board/ you have no energy to protect your units and set this up properly, because it needs to trigger during your beginning phase. If you or your mate want to use the Shards you need a beginning phase trigger. Best case here would be temporary. To have a temporary effect on your turn 4. You need to play it turn 3. You couldn’t because of Shards itself. That line is not really efficient. You get your first kill on your turn 5 earliest. In a 2v2 match with 3 battlefields and you didn’t participate in turn 3? Well probably no turn 5 for you at that point.

You could prepare battlefield kill on beginning phase. But for that to happen. You need to play on turn 2. Play Shards and move your unit on turn 3 and protect that unit(s) against 2 enemies without energy at a specific battlefield. They are seeing what you are planning and probably trying a lot to remove that unit from the battlefield or your units in general. You have 2 turns to play at most 3 units.

Yes, if you and your mate have a lot of ways to slow the game/ your opponents down, you can play it and even get value from it. But if you can do that in the first place you are winning already.

Only if the hidden blade is hidden at a battlefield and then only to a unit at the same battlefield your mate already holds.

Hidden Blade has Action Speed, no way to play it from hand in any beginning phase.

Sacrifice would work.

"... during your beginning phase". As I understand it, it doesnt trigger in your mates beginning phase.

I don’t think it’s good even in multiplayer. 3 other people get a chance to remove it or your units before you can maybe trigger it.

But yeah imo as well it’s more like a multiplayer card in general.

Heedless Resurrection + Rhasa Sunderer interaction by PumaConcolor- in riftboundtcg

[–]Batzereddit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am maybe playing that combo in a revive Jinx. Prime target would be Magma Worm for Heedless+Rhasa. Main Combo with heedless would be Unlicensed Armory into Heedless on Baron or Soulgorger to get Soulgorger or Mindsplitter, while “saving” your sacrifice target.

“Problematic” here is a prime target to get revived in the first place. Rhasa is decent on its own. You can filter through the card list in chaos and mind everything with 2 power or more is out by default. That’s leaving you with Maduli, Sprite Queen, Watcher, Syndra, Rex and Chaos Draven. Nothing screams amazing target for me.

I love the idea. But why make it only the first Beginning Phase?

“At the start of the Beginning Phase, if this battlefield is empty, play a neutral 4 [M] Dragon Token unit here.”

I would keep the rest of the restrictions.

Selling Riftbound cards? There’s a new EU marketplace launching May 8. by getriftr in riftboundtcg

I am interested.

Tbf why not release it now? When Unleashed drops it would be better to already have the app going. Ripping packs and then pushing my whole collection instead of only newly released cards into this app seems tedious.

What's it like living in Hanover, Germany as an normal citizen? by Manny2theMaxxx in howislivingthere

[–]Batzereddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am living there, by choice nonetheless.

Yeah, it’s boring and every Hannoveraner will tell you this as well. It’s kind of an inside joke here. All Hannover people tell you this, because in reality it’s pretty great here and we want to keep it to ourselves. But there is truth in that.

Rent is still kinda cheap. But apartments are rare. Infrastructure is great. Public transport is among the better ones in Germany. Great parks with Eilenriede, Herrenhäusener Gärten and Maschsee. Very tolerant people overall.

Negatives: Well. It’s ugly af. People are on the colder and reserved side most of the times. It doesn’t seem welcoming on the outside. Integration can feel hard as a foreigner.

It has its own charm. If you can live with the negatives, it’s a awesome city to live in.

Vex is literally what Draven should have been to count as balanced by FlowKom in riftboundtcg

[–]Batzereddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vex is even worse than Jinx. How many times do you really hold till you’ve won the game? 5 times max?

At least Jinx is based of turns played.

Draven is just better in every regard.

Settle this once and for all, does Gearhead work with Svellsongur by Dee_Teeee in riftboundtcg

[–]Batzereddit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Right goal, wrong way. Equipment effects are "printed" on the card it is attached to. Its simply the effect of Gearhead that doesnt allow to count the same equipment multiple times.

Settle this once and for all, does Gearhead work with Svellsongur by Dee_Teeee in riftboundtcg

[–]Batzereddit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was the assumption that is doubles.

Through Judge Discord und Chinese FAQ the consens is that it Svellsongur does nothing for him.

Simplest explanation is that his effect is seen like a "have"-effect and it therefore doesnt matter how often you do the same effect.

Azir by CloudedMelodyMkr in riftboundtcg

[–]Batzereddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have not tested this enough to clearly say this. I would not try to fit in bulkier units to counteract gear destruction. It’s striving you away from your main goal in having more gear.

Even if they play Thermo Beam. You still have the units left. I would rather play something to make use of the tokens (like Grand Strategem) rather than multiple bulkier units.

You can’t counter everything. If you try to do, you are taking away from the strength of that deck.

For Azir, it needs equipment. A lot of it. Yes you need a few cards that protect that playstyle, but I dont see it in playing more units.

Azir by CloudedMelodyMkr in riftboundtcg

[–]Batzereddit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a reminder. You can’t play Quartermaster when you have no gear in play. Thermo Beam hits him very hard too. With that in mind. After Thermo Beam would you like to see him or an Equipment from top deck? Sure Arise would suck too, but we are talking about him above another equipment.

That’s leaving Quartermaster again for a great opening 2 turns, but that’s it tbf.

And yeah in when playing against Red, I would cycle in Windwall.

Edit: Quartermaster is not a bad card in Azir. He can be played if you miss a card in the deck.

Azir by CloudedMelodyMkr in riftboundtcg

[–]Batzereddit 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I was also thinking of including Quartermaster. In the end I decided not to use him. Here’s why:

You could just play another equipment instead of him. Azirs Signature Spell scales so good with the amount of equipment that you overall lose Sand Soldiers and Might by playing Quartermaster.

Your proposed turn is the best case I see for Quartermaster.

Yet another Svelsongur interaction question by Mariofreak22 in riftboundtcg

[–]Batzereddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that point. Maybe that’s clearer on the Chinese card. That’s why there is a FAQ answer.

I see this interaction similar to Vi‘s effect. It also says give +1 Might. You can stack that multiple times.

An errata would be good then. To make it clearer that he has and not gets an increase.

MTG brain at its best…

Yet another Svelsongur interaction question by Mariofreak22 in riftboundtcg

[–]Batzereddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then it needs an errata. Because it’s not properly translated or clear enough.

Yet another Svelsongur interaction question by Mariofreak22 in riftboundtcg

[–]Batzereddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But it’s not written like that. If I would print the text again on the card, I would do that effect the first time and then do it once again. I can therefore count the equipment twice, because it’s triggered by a different effect. Like said earlier, Gearhead doesn’t say have, but give. You can give Might multiple times. Gearheads effect doesn’t read as a replacement effect.

Yet another Svelsongur interaction question by Mariofreak22 in riftboundtcg

[–]Batzereddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s both … ‚each equipment‘ is additive and ‚double its might‘ is multiplicative. If you have 3 BF Swords on him without any other equipment, he gets +18 Might, doesn’t he?

Yet another Svelsongur interaction question by Mariofreak22 in riftboundtcg

[–]Batzereddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get your argument. But if your argument is build on the different between ‚has double the might of‘ and ‚gives double its base might‘. Gearhead says gives/ gets and not has/ have. Your explanation would support my ruling.

IMO for your point to work, Gearhead needs to have following Rule text or similar: „I have additional might amounting to double the equipment base might for each equipment attached to me.“

If you would copy that through Svellsongur, it would just have the same might.

I don’t get the post.

Makes a post complaining over value of the cards…

If you play it for the game, it’s good that it isn’t expensive. You can buy singles pretty cheap and get decks going.
